I guess whether it is real upgrade or not depends on the user.

You might as well say 1Ds is the real upgrade.

To me the tilt screen itself is worth the upgrade price.

You both are wrong. It does not depend on the user. And it is Canon linking it to the amateur - which is an objective fact and not a subjective opinion. Everything else is nonsense especially the link to the 1D4.

60D = amateur or not is not the issue.....

It is the image you shoot = novice, advance or kids shots that matters to me.....

Camera is is just a tool for image making, and the difference between 1000D, 550D, 60D, 7D, etc is not as important as to what I can capture.... no doubts the diff body have diff limitation, it is the photographer's photographs that matters..........

my boss ex-boss a senior VP owns a 1DM3 and he is still an amateur just like me... because photography is no our bread-and-butter.

I agree with Halfmoon, it is a marketing strategy not only used by Canon but all manufacturers, Nikon, Olympuss, Pentax. I it easier for them to have targeted marketing and sales.

Personnal, I relish being call amateur, especially when my friends enjoy viewing my photos... no pressure, pure fun !

Bro dont have to compare like that. To you if its worth it can liao. A lot will say 7D 7D more worth the upgrade, but i assure you many of them wont or dont know its full potential. Can be BBB virus, or "upgrade-proof" mentality. Well 7D is a big upgrade alright, together with a huge price tag. If you willing to pay then okay why not. Its not as if the 7D is priced the SAME as the 60D, then there will be reason to make noise now would we?
;p If you want to keep linking 60D to amateurs, then i think you are the amateur, since you judge one by the camera not the skill.

In short as long you are taking photos for own hobby instead of earning $$$ from it, then u are an amateur. If u earn $$$ from taking photos, no matter how lousy u are, u are still a professional. So please don't get offended if someone call ya amateur. :-D

As for the title "professional" for camera, it basically means this camera is capable to be used for professional purpose, which is true for 60D as it has higher fps, wireless flash control, faster buffer speed so u don't have to wait very long before u can take ur next shot.

Mmm.... for me, I would always look to improve what I have done and raise the bar... and am concern when I do not do it... can be more stress at time, but that's to improve.... that's just me..... and it also applies to my photography..... so now, I am taking a break from shooting and doing more reading.... hoping to raise the bar once more... it is not easy... and this is just a hobby for me.....

I faced some problem with my full HD video recording,
I was using a 8GB class 4 SD card for the full HD,
but when I load the video into computer and play it,
the colour is differ from the image,
it look like the colour is different horizon level with the object,
hope you guy know what do my poor english mean:sweat:

anyone face this problem before?
I think it may be the SD card too slow to record full HD?

AN EXAMPLE; There are many guitarists that are not professionals or even in bands (no pressure from labels/managers/gig deadlines) yet have honed in their playing to a professional level

I was just sharing my comment, and trying to encourage people to face stress..... and handle stress and I just shared how I use stress to motivate myself.
