OFFICIAL: CANON EOS 5D Mark III - User Thread - Part 5

I also still hope in upcoming versions, they will allow off center metering.

Yes and I forgot one other thing... built-in flash... like the Canon 7D and Nikon D800.

Nothing (much) to complaint about :p

But I rather hope for a EOS-M3 with AF on par with OMD or A6000...

I would want an eos M3. Been waiting for that ever since rumors start.

There's an update to the Product Advisory from several months ago regarding the LCD Illumination Exposure Issue.

For the most part, there appears to be nothing to worry about.

I know this is quite impossible but maybe an update with 13 to 14ev of dynamic range will nice.

Hi all,
Just wish to check about techno gadgets online shop.
5d mark iii body there is quite less compared to what I enquired at shops like Cathay.

Anybody can advice on purchase from there?

5d mark iii link
http://www.technogadgets.com.sg/canon-digital-slrs/canon-dslr-body/canon-eos-5d-mark-iii-body/prod_692.html

The reason for the cheap price is because it's a grey set, meaning it's not covered by warranty. However, it is a brand new set. Technogadgets has quite positive reviews (based offline, not from their website), and that was why I got my 70-200 from them. Do note that self-collection is at Ngee Ann City and it is an office of an entire different industry lol. They also do 30 days 1 to 1 exchange (I think, if not it's 7 days. Sorry my memory is failing haha).

Thanks for the info,
somebody any suggestion on any 5d mark iii local sets deals ongoing or upcoming in Singapore?

According to some of them.. seem like grey set cost more for servicing in the event of faulty..

Canon pro series hardly have promo unlike xxxd or xxd series...

hi, need to check with you guys, how do you use 5D3 HDR function?

1) multiple shoot of RAW, import to photoshop, but it is time consuming.
2) multiple shoot of RAW, built in processed to jpeg, seems sharpness is not enough.

any other good ways? thanks

TBH, I never used the inbuilt HDR. No matter which setting is I've tried, it produces highly unrealistic HDR images most of the time. Time can be better spent shooting raw, import to your HDR software than to salvage a poor HDR output from the camera.

Anyone tried Magic Lantern on 5Dm3 ? how isit ?

Is there any improvement for taking still picture ? the major improvement is on VIDEO ?

Well, as what i have said, i just tried on the build in intervalometer.
For others, check reviews on Youtube. Surely you can check there.

Hi,

I bought 5D Mark III at last a few months ago. When I took first shoot and photos are clear, after that I change some setting (not remember what I had changed) found so much noise at photos (with ISO 1600 as well). Anybody help me to guide what should I do? I already done "Clear all Camera settings" and result are still same.

It will be best if you can upload the pictures (large enough and with EXIF info) for a clearer view of what you have said. Personally, I've not seen this issue with mine.

I wonder if a 'hard' reset may work. You can look this up in your manual, but a hard reset is done by taking the "regular" battery out of the camera and then removing the "internal" battery. Take both out at the same time and then put them back in. Everything should return to factory defaults.

On a second thought.... Did you change the sharpness parameter of the picture style like set it to maximum. Probably what you will see there is the sharpening artefact rather than the noise. Just that with the little info you have stated here leave much things to guess work.
