Same here!!!! 550D to 5D Mk iii.. Cheer!

Just curious what you make you wanna jump so high also? :bsmilie:
At first when I brought my 650D, I treat it as a hobby but opportunity came to
me so I jump into 5D Mk iii. :)

Welcome to the big league's!

Thanks but I also have a big hole in my pocket. :bsmilie:
After getting this, I be planning to get Canon EF 70-200mm F2.8 IS MM than Canon 50 EF 1.2mm.

Always think positive... big hole in your pocket means built-in air conditioning for your wardrobe! ;)

Ah got 'poisoned'. But you won't regret on the 5MKIII though. Can't really understand but in the B&S section quite
a bit of owners letting go of this gem what's their rational.Simply mind boggling:dunno:

I only understand that for those who sold this gem could be hobbyist.
They sold it either because of commitment or gave up photography.

I m using a 70-200mm(without IS) on my 5dm3 too..is perfect. To further reduce cost, im also using a samyang 14mm maunal lens for lenscape.

I also treat it as hobby when i first started with 550D during my holiday.
But got so into it, i start to learn more in depth of photography.
Now freelancer for my company and events. Why are you curious?

I'm just curious as those jumping from an entry-level APC-S DSLR to a semi pro full-frame DSLR
ought to have a reason for the big jump. :)
After owning the 5D, I have friends asking me the same question.
While I say "It's time to bring photography to the next level."

Hi, I am coming from Sony side. Been using A55 for around 3 years. Thinking of upgrading to a full frame camera. Do you think that it is too big of a jump or should I try out other Canon cameras before getting a full-frame. I take photography as a hobby as I really love taking photographs :)

If you love taking photographs, you'll love the Canon 5D Mark III. It's the best camera I've ever worked with. You will not be disappointed.

I also came from using a crop. In my opinion, I think that the alleged "jump" from a crop to a full frame camera has more to do with psychology than anything else. A camera is a camera. Whether crop or full frame the same basic techniques are used. Of course each camera body has it's own individual nuances which must be learned and appreciated but the basics remain the same.

Hmm, any idea how much is it now? Thinking of getting 5d3 and 25-70 f2.8 L from cathay.

Perhaps you can try looking at B&S section. some are letting go at a good price. some even with warranty too. Both can find there and you can safe some money for other accessories. i bought all my lens and 5D3 there. if you are not sure what to check for, ask your friends or here for more guidance.

The Canon 5D3 sells for around $3800-$4000.

Not sure if you want the 24-70 f/2.8L Type I or II. Type I can only be bought 2nd hand. Prices can be found in the Price Guide forum.

What type of photography you're doing?
I mostly doing travel photography, and a big FF is a big NO for me

The mark I lens still can get for brand new? Or is it discontinued already.

I shoot landscape and some low light photography. I want to upgrade to full frame for its high ISO, able to shoot wider.
