Congrats. Switching camp lar, not joining darkside...

Any bro tried the canon 90ex flash on 5dm3? Thanks

Anyone able to provide the most updated prices for 5D3 (body only)? Thanks! (:

Grey set from artworkphoto is $3625 with 12nths warranty from the shop

Anyone using Magic Lantern? If I installed them I'll void my factory warranty, am I right?

Its just like trying a different firmware. Can always revert to the original canon firmware back anytime.

Will the original UI & functions still there? Or it's like rooting an android with a custom firmware?

You are not hacking the firmware. Magic Lantern simply works on your storage card alongside the firmware inside your camera. You might want to read on how it works on the ML site.

When you talk about warranty, it means that any issues developed by the camera not through any fault of your own will be covered by the manufacturer. An item under warranty does not mean that the manufacturer will cover any damage that you caused to the camera ie impact damage. If you send in the camera with Magic Lantern loaded and the fault is determined to not be through your use of Magic Lantern, you will get your warranty coverage, assuming of course, the issue was not caused by you in the first place. To not implicate yourself, simply remove the card that Magic Lantern is installed on and no will be none the wiser. That said, this does not cover issues related to custom firmware in the first place, because you inflicted it upon the camera.

Thanks bro. Well noted.

For me I still prefer things original. If Canon have new firmware for the camera to upload
will then do it rather to speculate and guess. As some say if 3rd party firmware not suitable
just upload back the original. This sounds risky what if it's not reversible ?

Hi all Photographer,

Wanna check what is the latest firmware now for 5D mark III?

As much as I hate to admit it, I have to agree with this. Canon is tried and true. I can't say the same for Magic Latern... even the "magic" moniker scares me... somewhat akin to Aladin's "Magic Carpet". I guess I have to see it to believe it. Until then, Canon's firmware will do just fine.

That's the thing. Have not tried anyone using it.. But the write-ups seems promising. Even the Bracketing HDR looks awesome.

If I'm not mistaken, it is Ver. 1.2.1

Someone told me Ver 1.2.1 drains battery fast. Ver 1.1.3 seems to be better. I'm on 2.1.. So far 4-500 shots still pretty ok

Yes, all the feedback appears to be positive. I still need to see it before I can comfortably contemplate using it. Perhaps a Youtube video will suffice but I would rather see a personal demonstration.
