Yes, 4 or 5 business days is about right. That is the length of time my camera was with CSC for calibration. It was worth the wait though... my camera and lens produced photos of such sharpness that I bled for about a week until I got used to it. LOL ;)
Hahahahaaa..... Cant wait to bled......

@@ just bought the mark III for less then a week and LCD screen gave me a dead pixel >< hope canon can do someting for me, anyone facing the same problem as me too?

I'm sorry to hear that. I haven't the same experience but I hope that Canon will do right by you. Keep us informed of your progress with Canon. Good luck. :)

It's a brand new camera and therefore under warranty... there should be no problem in getting it fixed. Let us know what happens.

Less than 7 days why not go down shop 1 to 1 exchange?

Depends on shop policy.

Most good shops will try to extend this, and will highlight to buyers not to register online within first 7-days so that they can exchange if got problem. But once registered online, nothing can be done except going back to Canon service centre.

is 1 to 1 exchange a standard practice for brand new cam purchased ?

And so the drama continues... either way, I think you'll be taken care of... after-all, it is a brand new camera (a thousand photos or not). It is still well within the warranty period, and you haven't registered the camera yet and you are within 7 or 8 days of buying the camera. All these things are working in your favour.

IT show starts tomorrow and you might not be getting any new stocks for a while since most of the retailers will try to sell as much as possible in the IT show. I think she is asking you to wait for answer by Monday (IT show ends on Sunday) just in case they did not manage to sell off all their 5DIII stocks during the IT show and you maybe lucky enough to get a leftover stock from the IT show.

Not sure if this store that you bought from is participating in the IT show though. It will be a stretched favour if they try to secure a new one to replace for you, since this is the time that they can sell more of their remaining stocks (if they have).

Good luck though and enjoy your 5D.

The 5D3 never ceases to amaze me. I used the camera for about two hours in below freezing weather and it performed flawlessly through the entire time.

Yup should be the case the store is actually ms color, so they should be participating. I only can hope and this weekend no photo taking session for me :(

Doubt you will get a new one, you would be really lucky. ;) A dead pixel isn't a warranty issue anyway. It's beyond me why you didn't simply exchange it earlier. Good luck on Monday!

Good luck getting it replaced in this scenario. It's hard to prove that the manufacturer is at fault when the problem doesn't occur out of the box.

You could have walked to MSC on the 6th day to swap the camera, done. Doubt it's related to the IT Show but of course it sounds nice as an excuse. ;)
