I certainly got a great deal from CP when I bought my 5DMKIII with bat grip from them last year.Forget the freebies !

Yes, quite often the freebies include a cheap tripod or cleaning kit or perhaps something a little better like an extra battery. But you pay full retail price for the privilege of getting something supposedly FREE at the show!

Better to get your equipment from the Funan area and pay street price. Some also include freebies depending on the store. Last summer I got a good price for the Canon 5D3 which included a freebie in the form of a Sandisk 32 card which normally retails for about $130.

Yap agreed. Unless those IT show starts to give 32GB Card X 02, Original Battery, Original Battery Grip, Original Flash, Original 24-70mmf2.8 lens, Billingham Bag ;), Manfortto CF Tripod... then paying RRP okay lar...

That's abit unrealistic! Come on! Don't be so cheap!

If they give a 70-200 f/2.8 IS II and 24-70 f/2.8 II, then that's acceptable! :D

Well, quite often you get a free lens from Nikon and Sony at those shows but usually it's just something like a 50/1.8.

I was considering on getting a backup to my 5D3 perhaps in late 2013 or early 2014. It's a toss up between the 7D2 and the 6D. It appears that the price for the 7D will be close to the 6D but the specs for both are very different. I'm kind of leaning towards the 7D2 because of the extra reach and fast FPS but the lure of the full frame world has gotten me entangled in indecision.

LOL. Yeah I forgot about that. The ole 3D which was rumoured about 800 years ago. It's become legendary as a camera that was about to be but never was! ;)

Legend is made up of stories and history.... and after 800 years.... it is mandatory that it shall remain as legends....

lol....

Yes. There is just one thing to note, which is that a small part of the LCD screen near the VF will be obscured by the eyepiece. It didn't bother me, but it might be an issue for some. Possible to mitigate it by trimming the eyepiece I suppose.
Thank you again esoeij for your recommendation. I went down to Funan today but couldn't find the Hoodman eyepiece so I settled for a made in China imitation instead. It looks identical, maybe build quality not as good though.

No problem! I bought mine from TK Foto by the way.

Weird. I went to TK and they said they don't carry it  So I went opposite to Red Dot and got the imitation instead.

That's odd. They sell hoodman stuff leh.

The centre pinch lens caps are now available at B&H:

Congrats..you will have a great time..

Even if have, paying so much money for the original lens caps is a bit hard to justify. I ordered generic ones from eBay only about $3 each. Dunno about the quality though.

Yes I would have to agree. Paying US$10 for piece of plastic that does nothing but functions as a protective covering for the front of a lens is mindless when the same thing can be bought for less than half the price. At $3 a piece you can get 3 for the same price as the Canon equivalent.
