Good choice! I have noticed that many who have switched eventually return to their manufacturer of origin.

Greener pastures are always found on the other side at least for the first couple of hours.
For me, I had chance to use one Nikon body at work.... and I did not really felt comfortable with it then, and do not find the image that much better..... and also, I am lazy to go B&S to sell stuffs.... plus I did not like their ancient lens design look... including Leica... so I just keep to Canon....
Also... I always believe it is the Photographer and not the camera....
I did thought of getting a mechanical FM2 (is it this body?) to pair with a 35mm lens previously, since I thought that the only film body I can get new then...
Did not check if Canon have mechanical body... does Canon have mechanical film body? Thought of getting one.... I think only way is buy used now.....

Here is a link to Canon's flagship film body from B&H (USA). The price is $1900! It is fully AF and is native to EF style lenses.
IMO, I would just buy a used film camera. There are several available and very cheap. Personally I've kept my film camera from years ago. It is a Contax RTS Quartz II. It's been in storage for many, many years. I pull it out every so often just to make sure everything works. My Contax camera hasn't taken a photo this century... I just find digital so much easier to work with and much, much cheaper than developing film.
If it's too good to be true...
