How about 4.3k with everything in? Good buy?

If it includes the kit lens, yes.

with 4.3k it'll probably be no longer in stock..

For those of you that have bought the BG-E11 battery grip does it add a lot of weight and bulk to your setup? Do you use it 100% of the time or just when needed?

I use it 100% of the time. It definitely brings the combination's bulkiness close to the 1DX, and the overall size is the same as 1DX.

Be prepared that the body alone + BG-E11 to be about 1kg.

100% of the time for me as well. The feel is fantastic. The weight is negligible.

I hardly ever use my BG. Only on special occasions, or when I need it to balance the camera set-up weight-wise (e.g. with long lens and/or 580ex flash attached).

Prices are falling in US , now 3750 USD on B&H web store. (around 4570 SGD), does anyone see price reduction on the kit set in Singapore?

I guess the competition from competitor's newly launched cameras is too strong, and that's good news for consumers.

If it falls to $4800, does not even need to be $4570, I can see them flying off the shelves every other day. Currently almost all shops have the camera in stock and sales have slowed.

It have been half a year since launched, it's natural that the sales have slowed ;p

Haha yeah, if they priced it lower they can bring up the sales again. Awesome camera btw :)

well, if we find the 5k plus affordable and continue willing to pay at this price, i dont see any logic for local set to reduce price. only if the selling slowed then will the price reduction comes into picture

It might be sometime before the price is lowered. Year end coming, they might have some promo.

Well i will only buy at 4.5K (credit card) for the kit set, until then i wait )), the only critisim i have repeativly seen for this camera is that its priced too high. Its ok for early adopter but then it has to go to a reasonable level. Which above 5K for the kit imo is not!

Just got a 5D Mark III and loving it. Low light performance is obviously insane. I'm using a 64GB Sandisk Class 10 card. Thinking of getting a CF card for backup.
My friend wanted to wait for the 6D. He shoots video, but I won't be buying the 6D. I utilise all the extra focus points from the 5D3. And I don't need the wifi capabilities from 6D. It's quite sad that the 6D also didn't have the articulated screen. I shot with a 60D before and even for photography it's proven very useful. Honestly, if the 6D had an articulated screen it would have made my decision so much harder. As for the 46MP Canon camera, I think a lot of us won't be needing so many MP. Hogs up disk space and I'm sure noise will be affected cuz pixel pitch will be smaller. I think if you really need so many MP might as well go into medium format already.

You are doing it wrong. The SD slot is to be used for backup and not the CF if you want the full potential of the camera, the burst mode. The SD slot in the 5D3 is a generation behind in technology; slow writing speed.

The price is maintained since the camera is out in March. I remember i pay $4250 for body and $5300 for kit in march 2013 (*if i'm not wrong)
Now about the same price, but they give you freebies and you hv option to buy L lens for a cheaper price
this has been their marketing way

if shop lower their price than the lowest price they can sell... they will get complained, and they might get penalty :)

Canon is better in price rather than nikon
if you see nikon price, now they are just dropping and droping every week

Anyway, every product normally hv their standard way to market the product

if you buy at 4.5K (CC), then the cash price is $4400 (*assuming it's 2.2%)
if we minus off the lens ($1k), then body only is $3400

i think... u might need to wait for another year till the body become $3400

in the near time, they will release 6D, where the price will be $2800-$3000...
i don't think they will cut price 5D mark III easily.... (*see 5d mark 2 price... it start dropping after 2 years only...)

just my opinion only...

Just curious, what's the current street price for the body? I was eyeing the Nikon d600 but seems like it has a lot oil on sensor issue. Kinda worrying.

guys, can i ask if anyone of you bought the 5DMK3 from Orient Photo before? cause' i noticed that they are not under canon's authorised dealers list. i search around, people have no problem with warranty registration but do anyone know where their stocks come from?

Maybe from other shops that are authorised dealers. Quite common. For example J3:16 isn't a Nikon authorised dealer but buying from them is not a problem because they get their stocks from authorised dealers.
