In two years time have 2.5 million ISO and 1,024 focus points with hair trigger accuracy!
In 2 years we will still have the same specs as now. :)

Just moved from 60D to Mk3.

Noise control is really wonderful at 3200, haven't tried anything higher yet though.

The silent shutter seems like a pretty cool feature. Shutter button is more spongy then 60D, I probably need some time to get used to telling where is the 1/2 way point when trying to focus.

Yes, I've pulled off enough inadvertent photos by being a little trigger happy on the shutter button myself!

I never bothered to find out, but I wonder if it's a little more sensitive than other Canon models? :dunno:

Yup the button also seem more spongy compare to my 7D. Sometime took the photo "accidentally" when I just intend to half press to focus.
Like the noise control too, but so far seldom go higher than 3200.

As esoeij mentioned in an earlier post, you get freebies only at IT show but paying RRP. I'm sure you already have tripod, dry box, etc. So no point going after the freebies but paying approx. $500 more. Just go get it if you really love to own one 5DM3.

I got mine yesterday.

Disagree. Almost all the recommended shops give some freebies. ;-)

Just that the ones at the IT show tend to be useless and you pay RRP

We hear this all the time but there are plenty of people who make their purchases there. And we are not talking about compact cameras here. Top end dSLR and lenses are sold briskly over at IT shows. I am always so amused.

anyway, I think SLRR so far lowest with kit lens... $4973 inc. gST

Avoid the elbow-to-elbow crowds at the IT show. Just go to Funan and pay street price (freebie or no freebie). Most freebies at the IT show are cheap anyway and although they call them freebies, you still pay for them at RRP. IMO, not worth it.

But if you go just to a reputed shop you won't have the feeling you got the best deal in the world. :)
