As mentioned earlier, I used my 5D Mark 3 in a concert for the first time and and gosh I love this machine. The AF was so damn responsive and accurate, the keeper rate was very high. Btw, I am comparing its performance to my ex-beloved 7D which is also a good camera for concerts. AWB was also very good and the noise was very well controlled. Glad i made the decision to jump to the mark 3 =)

In terms of focus accuracy would you consider the 5D3 to be significantly superior to the 7D or marginally?

I would consider it significantly better. The 7D is indeed a great camera but it does stuggle a lil in low light. As I also shoot concerts with fast movements, it is easy to tell that the 5d mark 3 does indeed perform better in this area.

Also my shutter count is 170 out of box. Normal?

depends on your composition but i'd think both would be great, but favour the 24-105 for more flexibility if you need just one.

just did legoland UK with the 24-105 and the focusing speed is top notch, especially compared to the 5d mk ii.

Mine is 0 count out of box from Cathay

That's the "problem" of getting a new body.
Maybe canon can consider putting an auto update engine inside just like our smart phone!

There are at least 3 threads on the pancake lens that cropped up over the past week. You'll find plenty of sample photos and opinions in each of them.

Yeah... I'm still using a phone from the mid nineties. I should upgrade soon. I hear that the new ones can even fit in your pocket!

I'll probably pay for it by saving on all the film developing I've been doing....

haha there's phones with better and better cameras and soon, cameras with built in phone, firmware upgrade notifications, web browser, tell time and make coffee maybe? lol
