YAY i just got my 550D too! and i think i'm already into the BBB syndrome

i'm not sure if the phottix 550d grip is out locally. but i saw it online alr. for 50GBP. which is abt S$100. including 2 phottix batteries. so wondering if i should get it. travelling early next month. so planning to do some videos. more juice would be good.

and oh yeah, what's the 3rd party battery? some "super battery", i quote?

Yup. The $99 referring to original battery. Original grip is in the $200 region.

You mean the Original Canon E8 battery for our 550D at $99 ?... quite expensive to me... I can buy 4 OEM Batteries at Orient Photo for $25 each .... But anw, guys do you all use OEM batteries before ? any difference between OEM and Original in terms of Performance ?

Got mine $80. Still expensive but hey it's original.

Saw your portfolio. The riding one. Wondering why did you capture those in black/ white? Because, capturing it in color would be better as you can change it to black/ white anytime while PP.

Thanks for looking. Actually captured in colour and PP in B&W. The background is quite distracting. Thats why.

no no i mean when he mentioned $99, it should be referring to the original battery. thought i saw someone posted original battery @ $65.

i think they are pretty much the same here or there ya. do make some calls to chk with them and ask if gst inclusive ya. that makes a huge difference. =p

Cash payment is cheaper than other payment method.
some BIG shops like best Denki, harvey norman, challenger, selling standard price by canon.
other shop like SLR Revo, MS Color, and others shop selling cheaper but must pay by cash.
you can read this thread from the 1st page, there are some ppl actually shared their purchase price and location

depends on if u are in a hurry to get one. else u could just wait n see if the next pc show can offer you anything. though i bet its the freebies more then then price we might be talking about. i dun think so anymore free 5mdc bag though, it will be good to hv. haa...

Nope you don't need. I think the privilege program over for sometime already, correct me if i'm wrong.
