Usually "Equipment Discussions" forum, people more towards talking about equipment, so if you want C&C, you may post it into the Gallery forum :)

Alright noted, but may main intention was to seek C&C from fellow 550D mates who own the same camera, and probably compare to the shots they take, in any case if my pics were not as sharp or sth. Thanks anyway! ;)

I don't really know how to judge photos. Somemore I newbie too. From my point of view, they are all well-taken, especially #3 which is good idea to take the shot from the bottom. :)

Can share what lens and settings u used for the shots?

Same here thus i requested for C&C and seek opinion from others and learn from what they say which i too might think likewise and lack of it when taking the picture.

The EXIF data are still intact, you can save the pics and check it out..

#1,2,3 composition is similar.
#3 is tilted a bit if u do notice.

#4 stand out most.

If u do notice, the photos are pretty normal, not outstanding. Possibly due to missing race queens?? :P

You might want to exploit your 50mm F1.8 shallow DOF by focusing on some parts of your bike instead of whole bike.

Tweaked your #1 colours.

Haha, was an impromptu shoot, thus my gf didn't really want to be the 'race queen'

Ic, thanks alot for your comments and effort sharing!

Will share some pictures taken at yesterday night on Mother's Day celebration dinner. All shots taken with natural lighting, from ISO800 till ISO4000. :D

Looks great.

Do share 'em. Would love to see!

thanks! Now I know what "EXIF data intact" actually means! :)

No problem :) I'm still learning and thinks my shots are still really far from good...

Thus this thread is for us to share our knowledge and experience!

Cool! Looking forward to that :)

Finally got my FIRST DLSR. My 7 year wait is over!! Ive always used film. Now its time to be a noob again. I never had the money to buy. So unlike many people who think they are so good with photography and buy 7Ds or FFs, I guess starting with this awesome "entry level" DSLR is awesome. (why is it entry level? in photography, all you need to know is how to let the light get into your camera... if you have done FILM for the longest time, this baby(550D) is AWESOME!!!

Got my 550D at SLRR for like 1800+. Bought body only with Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4.0 DC OS HSM MACRO

Nice. I wanna try that lens too. I want lens stablization.. :D

I am using my wife's Sigma 17 - 70 lens. It has pretty good edge to edge sharpness and is very good for general use. When looking for something similar for myself, I find it will probably cost a lot more to get anything better than this. If someone can please recommend a good alternative I will be very interested.

guess its depending on what you wanna shoot ya. but u might be bringing both in yr case. though its still dependent on what you wanna shoot. lppl... =p:dunno:

both of them

i jus wan to bring 1 ... dun tink got time to change lenses when u r following a guided tour n the 75-300 is rather heavy

i guess mostly will be sceneries ... n of course the infamous Sakura
i'll be bring along my digitalcam for back up

in that case, yr kit 1 with yr digi backup shld be fine for light weight travelling and the hassle free switching of lens. just rem that you will be giving up the range for it so u just need to make do with it ya. =p

Mostly I will use Kit 1. Consider getting a 18-85mm or 18-200mm lens for your trip?

I got mine from MSC AMK hub. Retailing at $13.50. The size fits exactly. I asked the guy Ivan to paste it for me when I bought my camera from him. :)
