Yo fellow 550D users.
My friend has contact me that Snag it-pro have their DSLR protector released for 550D.

He need 20pcs to bring shipping cost down so to retail at approx $42. As u know, manufacturers always markup new products due to new mole and for early adopters. He is willing to absorb the markup cost for first 20pcs. :)

Anyone interested other than me? I will get 1 for sure, as I am pretty sure this body gonna stay with me for at least 3.6years. (After warranty extention. :D)

Wow, this is cool. From the link I've seen, actually got a few queries. (I guess you also not yet seen the real thing but maybe everyone could share what they 'see' after they check the link ;) )
1. The hot shoe is covered. So when we need mount flash, it seems it can be remove up?
2. It has "A hard plastic cover protects the LCD against damage". But seems this plastic is not the very clear type (not like the GGS protector)?
3. With this "A hard plastic cover protects the LCD against damage", seems no longer need a GGS protector?

Thanks

Maybe not sure. I have yet to see this product. :P

Hi guys, can recommend some storage advice for a newbie? At the moment, I've only a kit II. Do I need at least a dry box or I can keep it in the EOS bag with some packs of silica gels?

I suggest that you get a dry cabinet. Silica gels have adverse effects on rubber.

Hi, I'm a new user and have benefitted from lurking on this forum in making my purchase decision. I bought the 550D body and the 18-200mm lens. Since there's no longer any promotion at this time and I'm not buying the standard kit, I didn't get much freebies. I was just happy to be able to get the 18-200 lens as that's more versatile and I won't have to carry too much stuff around with me when I travel, which I do frequently for work.

Keep the positive exchanges going and I'll contribute if I've anything useful to share. :)

Usually "Equipment Discussions" forum, people more towards talking about equipment, so if you want C&C, you may post it into the Gallery forum :)

I don't really know how to judge photos. Somemore I newbie too. From my point of view, they are all well-taken, especially #3 which is good idea to take the shot from the bottom. :)

Can share what lens and settings u used for the shots?

#1,2,3 composition is similar.
#3 is tilted a bit if u do notice.

#4 stand out most.

If u do notice, the photos are pretty normal, not outstanding. Possibly due to missing race queens?? :P

You might want to exploit your 50mm F1.8 shallow DOF by focusing on some parts of your bike instead of whole bike.

Tweaked your #1 colours.

MemoryLink should had pm u on the camera condom right? :bsmilie:

If not I will post here:
1. The hot shoe is covered. So when we need mount flash, it seems it can be remove up?
ANS: The hot shoe have a part to cover, however it's flesible and can be lifted up when using the flash. So there's no need for any parts to be removed.

2. It has "A hard plastic cover protects the LCD against damage". But seems this plastic is not the very clear type (not like the GGS protector)?

ANS: As this is the OEM version, there's no hard plastic. And even for the original product, I don't think the plastic is as good as the GGS protector.

Looking good, to expand the grip of the 550D further. Unlikely to use grip, will use my 350D + grip for portraits instead. :D

i found 550D the body is too small for me.. thinking to get the battrey grip..

Will share some pictures taken at yesterday night on Mother's Day celebration dinner. All shots taken with natural lighting, from ISO800 till ISO4000. :D

Looks great.
