Is there any brandname "GGS" or "any lettering" printed on the protectector like the following pic?

Somebody posted a symphony performance video earlier in this thread. Quality-Bad. Either the video capabilities suck or it badly shot.

OS version has smaller aperture range than the old model.
it also has HSM but of course pricer.

Somebody posted a symphony performance video earlier in this thread. Quality-Bad. Either the video capabilities suck or it badly shot.

It is recorded in 640 x 480 natively and heavily compressed by youtube. I do not have enough memory space that time.

regarding video for 550d, does it make a big difference if the lens used during the recording is a NON IS lens ?

IS can correct vibration due to hand shake but not shakes due to walking etc.


BTW, found Ebay selling 550D battery from Singapore, 1120mAh 7.2V at $25 with 6 month warranty.

Tho' 1080p video by 550D is nice if focused properly, video is limited to max 4GB filesize or about 12 mins. This is OK if not for, say a school piano concert with a classical piece with a few movements consecutively. The 550D is primarily a camera, not a digicam. Initially I had blurred videos; found out that when pressing shutter half way to AF before recording, I didn't wait long enough for AF to complete fully (white rectangle turning green with a beep sound). I did video with AE lock but unsuccessful. Must be I missed some steps. Hope this info is helpful. Rgds

After several trys on AF video, I think use MF then AE lock is better. AF under low light doesn't work, of course also depend on your lens, small aperture ones better keep at MF. Before hit REC, preview at 5x and 10x magnification ensure that the object is focus.

lolx, 1400mAh should be bogus ratings.
Even Phottix told users to charge and discharge li-ons before using. Obviously they didn't know about li-on batteries. :bsmilie:

550D certainly VFM
there's a thread about IQ comparsion. do read up more before you decide which is much suitable for you. Have a feel of the cameras first.

pretty impress with its IQ, improved alot since I've borrowed 450D from friend.

Since I bought my 550D few weeks backm I have been searching high and low for the LCD protector, althoguht 550D comes with 3" LCD, but is a wider screen thus, existing 3" protector doens't fit, can anyone know where to buy the LCD protector for 550D in Singpaore? and pls. share the price too...
