Dear all,

Since I bought my 550D few weeks backm I have been searching high and low for the LCD protector, althoguht 550D comes with 3" LCD, but is a wider screen thus, existing 3" protector doens't fit, can anyone know where to buy the LCD protector for 550D in Singpaore? and pls. share the price too...

thanks millions...
I posted a few pages back regarding a 3.3inch LCD protector on ebay is almost fit.

Some people reported GGS glass protector is for sale at OP...

Is it OP?

Thanks.

Just read the thread.
My conclusion is that for the extra $1289 you will get the following features over 550D
1) wireless flash
2) more AF points
3) faster shutter speed
4) 100% viewfinder
5) weather seal
6) one extra processor
that is roughly, $200 per feature.

the 550D is becoming more enticing..

550D certainly VFM
there's a thread about IQ comparsion. do read up more before you decide which is much suitable for you. Have a feel of the cameras first.

pretty impress with its IQ, improved alot since I've borrowed 450D from friend.

19af point all cross and F2.8 sensitive. 550D only have 1.

No diff if u use liveview. lolx

Y contemplate? Juz get it...it's the cheapest prime u can find and very value for money!

I guess so, anyone know where i can get this for a good price? :)

Thanks for the input zonal!

yes 1400mAh could be bogus.

can pm me the ebay seller with the same LP-E8 rating?

"yes 1400mAh could be bogus"? Sounds like you know it really is (you can't even proof it) or just BS-ing simply bcos you all can't accept the fact that there are really cheaper better batts other than Canon treating you all like idiots by chopping your veggie heads. Price started off with 60 bucks and than skyrocket to 85. Obviously there are enuf idiots out there to pian. WAHAHAHAHA!!!:bsmilie:

we're off the line from the topic slightly.
It's all in the marketing and they know the market needs very well.

I'm waiting for compatible battery grip out. :bsmilie:

Well, what makes u think china cells are more superior than japanese cells?
Japan put years of research and billions of dollars. China copies.

The rating, the battery manufacturer can use to put any label on it, because their battery didn't go through CIPA test. All japanese camera batteries have to go through CIPA test. They wouldn't dare to play with bogus numbers.

From what I have seen, 3rd party battery cells for LP-E5 starts as low as 500mAh and they put 1100mAh rating on the battery. Not to mention that their battery tend to over-volt (7.4v vs 7.2v) just to make up the difference in the mAh power.

Yeah the body is bigger also, so much easier to grip if you have a big hand.

But the 550d has the LCD advantage: higher resolution 3:2 aspect ratio makes viewing your shots on it in full screen (no black borders on the sides).

No love for 7x movie crop? lolx

Now even 10-22mm can become telephoto lens after cropping. lolx

regarding the 3rd party battery for the 550d......

very simple lah.... if you got the budget and worry that the 3rd party battery will spoil your camera... then spend more and buy the original battery.

if not just pay less than $20 and buy one or two 3rd party batteries and be happy with it. Frankly speaking, I seldom need to use the spare battery, one battery can usually last me for the whole day. Well, unless you r using it in cold country then maybe it will drain out faster. Its always good to have a backup battery...

my 2 cents

Fyi: talking about faster drainage of battery in cold weather. the battery in my camera doesnt last for the whole day (0 to -18 degree C), need to use the backup battery.

Original Battery too expensive. But party due to all the safety standards theyhave to meet in Japan. Plus original branding will increase selling price by another 100% also.
I personally use 1 x original battery and 1 x 3rd party backup battery.
