Oh dear chris, you miss out the great Canon Priviledge program? Lesson learned but nvm lar still can get the deal during your next upgrade.
I got myself a 550D kit II for $1429 too.

I don't think so. The closest I can find is the 3.3" screen protector on ebay.

Will notify you people if I found any good lobang to share with all fellow 550D users.

I also have been thinking about what you guys have mentioned. In the end, i didn't buy from audio house also because even when i asked them questions, they kept saying 'don't know'. I think those stuff that they are giving, i can slowly buy also! thanks so much!

Guys I need some advice.

I plan to get a 550D + 50mmf/2.8 soon.

Should I get the 550D with

- Kit 1 (18-55mm) $1151 >Should I buy a 18-55mm when Im getting 50mm f/1.8 soon?
- Kit 2 (18-135mm) $1429 or
- Just get the 550D body $ 992 >Since can get a cheaper 2nd hand zoom lense ??

If it is your 1st DSLR, shouldn't go wrong by getting 18-55.

18-55 is good enough. seriously, unless u dun like the 58mm lens size. lol! i used to dislike the kit lens because the zooming behavior very weird. on my 2nd 18-55 now...lol!

Hi all,
I am newbie who is getting my first DSLR after my long-frozen canon SLR 300.

I plan to get the Canon 550D kit 2. However, Alan Photo had no stock when I queried yesterday. They quoted me S$1600 if available. The salesperson recommend that I get Canon 550D body (S$1150) with a travel lens Sigma 18-200 OS (S$690), totaling S$1840.

I have never used Sigma lens. Yes, agreed that I like one lens (avoid changing lens) mainly for travel photography. I prefer taking landscapes, people in action/country, building etc. Not sure if Sigma colour tone is good or not. Anyone can offer some advice?

Actually I still have 1 kit lens from my Canon 300 SLR and an additional EF75-300mm F/4.0-5.6 without IS. Not sure if I switch to DSLR now, is IS so important?

Appreciate some advice from those with more experience. Thanks pp. If can, pls give me advice on where should I get the DSLR from?

Yeah, I guess shop tell him polarizer sold at $85, discount give him $30.
3rd party battery sell $30, discount give him $30. Price of battery is only a little high though.
