got nothing from MS Color except for the 550D Kit II and MS color got 1599 from me for the 550D.

50mm F1.4 has slower focusing speed due to micro USM instead of the more superior ring USM.

I am an upgrader from 350D.

Lens like 17-85mm F4-F5.6 IS USM have ring USM also. No neccessary need to be L lens.

Not all L lens have USM also.

Be careful with the lensbook... It contains BBB virus!!
After reading it, you will spend more $$$ for the lens.. haha...

I think it is good to have extra batteries when you travel as you will not know if the power supply will be affected by the temperature.

One of my friend shared with me of her experience with bringing cameras to cold/snowy countries, her camera got freezed and cannot power-up at all.....so she have to be constantly keeping her camera "warm" to get it working....it was a harsh weather for the camera. She went to the "Ha-Er-Bin", the icy place to see all the ice structures...

That won't help much didn't camera itself does not give out much heat as humans do in extreme cold weather.

Do consider 7D for this task...

Me 2 waiting for the 550D battey grip. Wonder when it will be out. 550D looks complete with batterygrip.
