I'm interested. Where to get this good deal? :D
If u guys r in it, I order 5 pcs trial and share. Of course, 1 piece is for myself. Muahahahaha!

@jaegersing
My Canon Powershot S5 IS can record up to 1hr, so long I don't hit the 4GB FAT limit barrier. (3.9GB actual if u take 1KB = 1024bytes)

It is ok to record for UNLIMITED LENGTH, so long the file size does not exceed 4GB FAT32 limit per file.

Of course i know the birate difference between SD and HD. Read post #826 on this page.

I think my post wasn't clear:

Bro, is it hard to apply the GGS? If no, i'm up for it! :)

Check with you all, 50mm f/1.8 II is prime lens, but is it also considered as macro lens?

theres a macro logo on the lens itself but the effectie range is 0.45m away from subject. so im not sure if thats considered macro ya. =p

Well, I wouldn't consider it to be. I don't think it's even capable of 1:2. Might be wrong though.

But if you've got it mounted on a body with a really large megapixel count, you could crop your subject out - although that'll be blatant cheating :p

Ah ic, but there are prime lens that are considered macro lens as well from what i read. Thanks for inputs anyway! Guess i've to check to see if it has the macro logo.

There can be Primes that can be Macro lenses, but it doesn't mean all primes are macro lenses.

And AFAIK, having the Macro logo on your lens doesn't make it a Macro lens.

Might be wrong though, better to wait for a confirmation of the above points.

Alright thanks for the input, did a search and couldn't find the difference between Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 and Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 MARKII ?

MarkII Lenses only fits MarkII body? Sorry if this is a repeated question, but am unable to find it :(

nope. what i learn from others is that mark II is like an upgrade,eg newer version. it fits our bodies alright.

It is the mounting that matters. 50mm 1.8 is EF mount. The 550D can take EF and EF-S. Not a prob.

So you mean it's the newer version of the EF 50mm f/1.8 lens II?

Yeah i understand, but am wondering what's the difference between the 2 of 'em.

There is a value beside the Macro logo. That tells you the minimum distance between your cam and the subject to focus. I think it should be 0.45m.

If you are looking to take super close ups like the hairs of the spider, than real macro lens is the way to go. 50mm no can do.

:)

U should be too concern about 50mm MKI & MKII as their difference is quite minimal. the older 50mm is more expensive.

If u are curious on their difference, here is it:
First version:

MKII:

Both are using Micro-motor. Focusing speed should be the same based on specs. Optically same also. First version do not have FTM FYI.

wah. first version looks better. plus more comfortable to turn the manual.

hey guys

spent the whole day at universal studios today. i drained one and a half-filled battery on the 550d with the battery grip. both original batts. i shot around 700 photos and kept about 350. i'm shooting in raw+jpeg, with external flash and half-lit LCD. overall, i'm impressed with the battery performance. i could've tweaked the settings to save more juice, but i guess i'm also lucky that the battery meter blinked only when we were on our way home while i was reviewing the photos.

just sharing my experience with the original battery and the grip. :)
