its fun and picture quality is totally different. but for weight issues, i'm not gonna buy a white lens but only rent it for f1 ..

What's a nice zoom lens to replace the 18-135kit lens?

Ur meaning of replace is to get another lens to expand the zoom range, like a ultra wide or telephoto. or a lens to replace ur 18-135 as a walk abt?

Guess its impt to know what you want to shoot with ur new lens. As every lens got its strength and weakness.

I just bought a 70-200mm f4. Tried 2.8 IS really heavy but quality take dof. Got a b+w filter to pair with it. The filter price diff so much from normal. Isit really that good?

The bw filter price is $87 but got 20% off so pay $69. Normal. Cost $16 though. Good deal or bad?

I have a b+w for my 70-200 too.. i normally spend about 10% of my lens price on my filter. No point pairing a cheapo filter with an L lens.

it's huge but i believe the quality is much more better, rite.

saw it at the canon lab as intro by the instructor.

it costs quite a bomb for white lens!!!

Cheapest white so far is the old Canon 70-200 f/4L Non IS. It should be around $900-1000 for a second hand copy.

For zoom range wise, I still prefer lens with IS if i'm taking sports, but if using it for buildings or portraits wise, I guess the Non IS would fill up it's shoes.

One thing I like the white lenses is that it's built is more versaitile and rigid compared to the black lenses.

But in long term wise, it may not be too practical to own one, as carrying the lens often is quite a problem for most of us.

Imagine lugging a 550D with a 70-200 f/2.8 IS every weekend, accompany your family. Haha

mayb can go to the canon vivo showrm to try out which is one's perferred lens then can decide which to buy in future.

why scenery need IS ? Its already mounted on tripod.

to me, IS is just a add on feature to lenses.
