With the 7% GST added and the cost of shipping thrown in, the difference is not significant. I just did the math for a D610 + 24-70 2.8 combo at B&H (similar rebates as Amazon). The difference in price did not justify the loss of warranty. One trip to NSC during the warranty period & the price difference is gone!
Why importing it from the US? It's not even cheap there anyway. There are cheeper options and some bros travel a lot, no need to pay shipping and customs.

Just played with one at Yodobashi and the feeling was nice. I found the command dial too low for my liking, but the sub command dial was surprisingly comfortable to use. Couldn't change things around as menu was in Japanese. Feels bigger than FM but compared with D800 it was really light. Didn't like the mode and ISO dials. exposure compensation is OK, so is the shutter speed dial.
You can change it to English, the Japanese model offers both languages (only). ;)

Wow, you have the 28mm f1.4, very rare right. Could you post some images using the DF & 28mm combo?

A night shot with the Df and 28mm f1.4

i saw a guy using a silver Df with some kit zoom lenses @ bishan yesterday....

I finally got my Df today. I must say the feeling is overwhelming, using slight bigger version of f3(I using this) mix with digital conveniences!!! I like this so much

Probably those who bought this cam can start a DF user thread? So that you guys can share your real user experiences and images with those who might be interested in getting...

Thanks.

Very nice lens and matches the DF very well. May I know how you handle manual focusing on the DF?

Thanks! Handling is straightforward - set Df to manual, set shutter speed and adjust aperture or vice versa and you're good to go. Machiam old school.
Focus until picture is sharp; no split screen type focusing. Amazing lens which picks up tiny details from far away.

Nikon Df and Nikon D4 shutter sound comparison.
Wait till 00:18 when it is switched to quiet mode. Nikon Df shutter sound is so quiet, it can be used in stealth mode !!!

Thanks. But how do you know when the image is in focus, just through trial and error?
