There is no beep.
Was it switched off? There should be.

I didn't see any option, it only has the option for AF. Played with it in Japan a few weeks ago. Actually I never saw any Nikon body which has that option for MF, confirmation beep usually works for AF only. [The Canon one works with MF.]Was it switched off? There should be.

Too bad. No idea why Nikon doesn't even offer it as a separate option. If you don't like it you don't need to turn it on.When switched on, there is a beep only in live view function. No beep when you focus through the viewfinder without live view.

meanwhile fellow Df owners and users who shoot in RAW and wants to edit in LR...
workaround for Df RAW files!
for the time being la. not sure if it will work with Adobe CS6 or CC.
can't wait to try it when I get home later in the evening!
just tested it on my Windows PC with Adobe Photoshop CS6 and it works!
=)
cheers!
Are you sure it works on your Windows PC ?
This software is MacOS base.
Thanks. But how do you know when the image is in focus, just through trial and error?
Not sure if you are asking about this but Nikon DF and other Nikons have manual focus assist. It appears as 2 arrows that tell you which direction to rotate your lens and a green dot in the middle when it is in focus. No idea how it really works but it works on all manual lenses that I have tested.
Thanks zixaw. Sorry Anthony I missed that earlier as I was concentrating more on the picture and didn't look at the bottom of the viewfinder. There are two arrows as zixaw mentions and a green dot appears when it is in focus.

Seriously? Common, it's much older than that.I think this manual focusing aid is not a new thing. Nikon already had this since the old D300 era..
