Well, they work without any problem on my D800E. So I would like and expect them to work on the Df too if I got one.

Jus to dispel fear tat tis beauty of a lens won't work on Df, due to the disclaimer frm sigma that some lenses are affected.

Its a new body w 3rd party lens afterall.

Good for ppl who r keen to get the body and posseses a sigma 35 1.4 but r hesistant due to tis issue.

Hmmm.. jus mainly lenses tat do not haf inbuilt af motor.

Anyway just to highlight, the sigma 35 f1.4 shines yet again on the Df. No issues encountered thus far.

Yes, no issues encountered thus far.

The problem may exist for newer Sigma lenses as well, but that is not a big issue since you can easily update the lens firmware with the USB lens firmware thingy. It is the older lenses that you have to send back to be updated that is going to be a major pain.

Surprisingly, my Sigma 15mm f/2.8 EX DG Fisheye (one of the affected lenses listed in the Sigma advisory) can autofocus properly on the Df.

'the Df is probably a camera that you really want to handle before making a purchase decision' - this pretty much sums it up for me. Unfortunately I still haven't had the chance to play with one yet.

Just tested out this morning. It is a bit uncomfortable and not stable in the hand because of smaller grip. The shutter sound is so delicious for me. U might want to bring yr own SD card to check image quality.

My Answer: D4 sensor in D800 body (non-retro) for US$3000 ? This looks interesting, but I don't think Nikon will do this as it will kill D4 sales.

My Answer: Depend on the price. Is it half price of D610 ?

Note: put the 16mp sensor from the D4 into the Df, with half price of D4. This' the Df we got now.

After D700 "success" than ate heavily into D3 sales, no way Nikon would do that.

Also won't work. It's either D4 or D800 sensor in Df body given where Nikon pitched it. Premium product. Luxury goods have inelastic demand. Pitch it lower it becomes a commodity.

I think the more salient features of this review are the design decisions. Still don't have my piece yet so I based my observations on my 2 short meddles at Kyoto Yodobashi - and I agree with Thom Hogan about not overly please with the design decisions. But my position is more can I adapt to that? Answer is yes.

And to me it is a mini D4 in a smaller lighter package. And given the type of work we do, 16mp is more than enough. And awesome low light capabilities. Plus looks :grin:.

Chrome. I wanted black as my first FE2 was black, but the MoF vetoed the decision and said chrome more "stand-out". MoF was understanding the nostalgic factor, and was significant in getting approval for it! :love1:
