i think duration is not the issue here. it depends on how many photos are taken. u can actually spend 14 hrs taking photos but only shoot 50. or u can oso spend 5 hrs but took 300 photos. so it depends but i guess it's always good to have a backup. happy shooting cheers :)

Also bought canon 85 f1.8 in KL, tokina 11-16 f2.8 and tamron 70-300 f4-5.6 in JB. When she intend to follow me for photography outing, i bought her another 600D !! Now she has another tokina 100, 18-55 and 55-250. Happy ending and i got the best service from her hehehehe

Hi there, Can I know how much you spend on your TOKINA 11-16 F2.8 gem? Which shop in JB you go? Isit the ANGSANA one?

around 400 shots.

I suggest getting a spare battery if you are going overseas, you never know when you will need it.

I bought mine from Battery for Canon LP-E8 LPE8 Digital Rebel T2i EOS 550D | eBay[/url]

around 1 - 2 weeks delivery, but now cny period maybe longer.

Get more memory cards too

Just got my Canon 600D a day ago :D test around and am quite happy with it :)
As I have previous experience with a Canon 500D :D

Anything I should take special note of? :)

The hotshoe sensor. I use a nikon hotshoe to prevent the water from entering it. Anw just to enquire, what is the first lens you get beside the kit lens? I feel like getting the 10-22mm lens but still undecisive cos the L lens are too tempting!

Get the 10-22... you will not be disappointed. The 10-22 is sometimes referred to as a "hidden L" lens. Well worth the money and a fun lens to use.

I second that. I also using a hidden L lens too.

Hi. Just wanna know. Is it necessary to buy a lens hood? What kind of brand is good? The one made in hong kong or US? And is it safe to buy accessory stuff off eBay?
Thanks in advance!

Where to get reversible lens hood for canon 600d?
Which brand is better. (cheapest but yet quality good)

Just to check is there any battery upgrade out there for the 600D. I know 400 shots is reasonable plus with support from a spare battery, but I amhoping for more. I don't remember seeing anything out there in the market. one of the reasons swinging me towards the 60D is due to the better battery life....

If you want a significant battery life upgrade, get a battery grip. It allows you to use two batteries together for more battery life. In addition, most battery grips will come with an six AA battery tray. Using Eneloops gives you about 2200mAh of battery life. For comparison, a stock E8 holds 1120 mAh. I also believe that your lens having IS and/or USM can significantly contribute to the battery life.

Also, there's a 2800 mAh third party E8 out there. I have one but I don't know where the heck it came from. My office owns two 550Ds, excluding my own, so it should have come from one of the others through my colleagues. In tandem with another 1120 mAh battery, my camera took about at least 1800 shots before the juice ran out. My Sigma 28-70 EX DG has neither IS or USM so YMMV.

Do you use liveview? Liveview eats up a lot of battery juices.
