Official 600D Users Thread

Hi, new member here and have been reading this forum for the past few days.
I just got my Canon 600D from TK Foto eariler today(i mean on sunday noon).
It's my first DSLR and i was using Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ35 previously.

I got these stuffs with a price of $1354,
600D with 18-55mm lens(Kit 1),
Lens workbook,
Canon crumpler bag(need to redeem),
Lens hood,
Screen protector,
Tripod(nikon SL 168),
8gb card,
Canon 50mm f/1.8 ($125)
Two UV filters ($15 each)

I have a question regarding the crumpler bag,
the person said that I'll need to redeem the bag from canon.
I did some research online and i found out that I'll need to print out the online warranty registration copy
so can i assume that all i need is my "online warranty registration copy" to redeem my crumpler bag?

i think u made 1 wrong choice..
ur 50mm f1.8 should be 89 if u extend your warranty le...

i just went to check the brochure from the IT show
and i realize that you're right.
i didn't read it properly and i thought you would only get the price if you're buying at the IT show.
thats $36 "tuition fees" for me.

I bought the 50mm to take bokeh shots too,
you might want to go down to MScolour/Tk foto to ask for the price.

You will only get the 50mm f/1.8 for $89 if you purchase the extended warranty at PC show.

So you didn't pay extra.

I bought the 50mm f1.8 at $125. Not much difference if you get it 2nd hand or the with purchase offer of $89.

I just collected the crumpler bag at the Canon Digital Lab. It's at level 1. No need go up to CSC. Opening hours Mon to Sat 11am to 9pm

I got mine today too!
It's awesome!(maybe i was just to excited about it.)

Side Note: If you're collecting ur EOS crumpler bag, remember to bring your
Receipt,
Warranty Card,
printout of ur online warranty registration form.

The price I got from TK is $1199 for just the kit 1. Should be roughly there if you add in accessories

for the Crumpler bag im not sure.
because the promo(free crumpler bag if you register your warranty online) ended on last sunday 12/6/2011

As for the other stuffs, i think you'll still be able to get around that price.
But then again, remember to check different shops.

Frankly besides the crumpler bag, freebies are not worthy. The free tripod is light but poorly built. I rather spend a little more for the essential accessories like dry cabinet, better tripod, filters and lens pen. You can ask the boss to throw in a 3rd party lens hood though
