Anyone can give me an idea on how much the screens would cost ?

hi guys, a new 5DmkII user here. cannot wait for the mkIII so took a plunge.
i hope more experienced users can give me a hand here.
when mated to my 24-70, there seems to be some front focusing issues,
i tried using the micro adjustment but still cannot get it right, it seems to be more than that.
do i have to send in to CSC to calibrate and anyone can tell me how long would it take?
is it the body or lens because when the 24-70 is on my 7D, it does not have this problem.
thank you so much for your assistance in advance.

Sounds like rough handling involved. Mine still works great. ;)

haha i guess my room too dusty and got cat furs :p not suitable for cleaning things :(

btw any cleaning solvent to recommend? can the same one be used for cleaning sensor?

eg-s cost $39

u can buy from Vivo or Keppel Tower (ground floor - Canon academy there), then go to Keppel Tower 4th floor to ask service center guys to help u change the screen if u are unsure of doing it yourself.

Mine doesn't have that issue. I think you have to get it to canon for calibration.. Anyway, welcome to the family !

Eg-S is better for manual focusing right ?

24-70 lens, ur shooting on 24mm or 70mm?
I used to have lens on 24mm I have front focus issue, but on 70mm it's tack sharp.

If u uv e same problem, you have to bring to canon for calibration

Enjoy!

Any would just do fine. I'm still surviving ont the bottle that came free along with the cleaning kit. Plenty to go. :D

it's on all focal lengths.
looks like i need to send it down.
one more question though, will they calibrate my body or lens?
and if they do calibrate my lens, will i have an issue if i mate it to my 7D?
guys, thank you for your help.

yup, this screen is used specifically for manual focusing.

if u use a lens slower then f2.8, u will notice the view finder becomes darker.

Pick your main body and send it in for calibration to that. The lens can be re-calibrated to your 7D using Microadjust later :)

Got it Shane. Much appreciated.

Just want to ask: Is there a way to get ISO100 or 50 without going to one of the custom functions?

Iso 100 can be set. For Iso 50, u need to turn on Iso expansion in the custom menu.

Thanks Berkins. Can ISO 50/100 be set in AV/TV/M modes with the ISO expansion set?

Yes u can.

Hi,

If I am shooting with flash (580ExII) on my 5D Mk2 and I need to take a shot without flash, I need to switch off the flash.

Is there any other way to disable/enable to flash without switching it off?

Thank you,

IIRC u can set this via custom function in the speedlite itself. Refer to the 580EX II's manual for the full description list of custom functions.
