Thinking of getting one second hand.

I think it is going for about 1200 to 1600 depending on the age, condition, shutter, accessories included.

My friend got his for $1400 in march, good condition, 3 years old, 2 batts, no grip, 2GB CF card, 20K shutter.

Those in better condition or more accessories like grip will be asking for more of course.

Oh and you can roughly tell the age based on the first digit of the serial number. Those made in 2005 will start with 0, made in 2006 start with 1, made in 2007 starts with 2, made in 2008 starts with 3

About S$1150 for mine. Included 3 batteries and a multi battery charger. Nothing else.

I paid $1600 last September. Shutter count only 16,000 actuation's and the camera was in very good condition. The shutter mechanism was already reinforced, so I didn't have to send it in to CSC for the service notice. I did another shutter count recently through CSC Canada and found out that I've only taken 1300 photos with this camera! Got to get out there and take some photos!

I'm using in between f1.4~f2.8, ISO 50~400. As for the lens I'm using Sigma 50mm f1.4 and Canon 135mm f2 L

yup i notice price is about what you guys mention. bulletproof 1.2? sorry quite lousy in reading in between the lines.

if you meant dishonest people trying to sell their gears on the forum. yes i contacted some in this forum, quite sad to see them trying to push their gear with unreal information.

thanks to all the information from this thread i was able to make an informed choice. Hopefully i find the right camera and the right seller.

Can i ask another noob question about the 5D.

If a shutter gives way, any outcome / bad things gonna happen to your camera? its just a part that spoilts due to wear and tear right? from my previous experience with a point and shoot, just have it change and the camera is as good as new.

If the shutter fails, just go get it replaced at CSC. last i heard it was $270 to change the shutter.
