Intergrity is very important.
A deal is a deal. If a buyer wants a discount, ask for it before buying. Once the deal has been agreed upon, trying to squirm out of it pleading hardship, pleading not enough cash at the moment etc are all spineless and irresponsible reasons. A person should have the moral integrity to uphold his own part of the bargain and enough discipline to stop himself from entering a contract if there's a large possiblity of being unable to fulfill the contract. Not only are you standing the seller up, you are also depriving others who want the item and has the ability to pay for it from getting the item. In the eyes of the law, a verbal contract is still a legally binding contract; breach of such a contract can be bought to the civil courts.
Likewise for a seller, its my opinion that once you agree to trade with a buyer, selling the item to another who jumps in at the last minute with a dollar or two higher bid isn't morally correct either. Maybe its easier to shaft someone whom you only know in the forum and perhaps converse once on the phone, but this sort of things simply doesn't reflect well on you. Equally bad and also criminal is false representation of an item, bait-and-switch tactics (more common on shady internet/mail order companies) etc.
Now, dtaytc/coolzzz if you think you are hard done by and that alloy has wrongly accused you, why don't you post your own version of events here?

Nothing to say? Look at it this way man, if you are the seller, you had agreed on a price then last minute some asshole tells you he is broke and cannot afford to pay you that price and literally compel you to give your item to him at HIS price. If he cannot pay, then don't buy, simple as that.

I sincerely doubt you deserve any apology from me, basically, I am just stating the facts and the fact is you mentioned we should not believe and should not reply to anything negative about the buyer. We can have our own views about the buyer and we want to protect ourselves against such buyer as well. Are you trying to say what you said is always correct and what the whole world said is wrong? Logically, if you know a person for 1 day (who had joined in 21 Mar 2004) and a person for more than a year, who should you believe more, knowing the person you had known for more then a year is always giving pretty balanced remarks.
If you cannot take open remarks, I suggest you do not participate in open forums.

... hehehe .... I always keep my end of my bargain.Mmm, I support integrity and have also met people like that before. But what dtaytc have done on the forum already shows that he is guilty. Defend yourself using your name don't use another nick. Very important I think dtaytc still believes that the filter he get is not 900nm, if seller request to take back item than it should be done, why are you still holding to it ??. There are many seller who would go to lengths to defend the items the he is selling (including myself) is what he says it is or at least what he believes it is. If a deal is strike and during the viewing of the items you don't agree on the condition than say so and not go thru the deal. If it is a real case of a problem most seller would agree to look into it and also give a refund if necessary. No need to give this kind of trouble. In the end I think this is a real jerk to avoid.
