I know it is a bit right-heavy but I like the ray of light shining through so much that I decided to still do it. I've never taken a shot composing of a construction that is undergoing also.

This time a coloured version of what I had been posting this week. HDR image.

So much has changed with the construction in this area for the new sports hub. Gone are the old Oasis and Cosy Bay. It is also quite obvious how long I have not been there. Even the Indoor Stadium has some construction going on, so had to use the widest angle I can to capture this. The sky isn't good today, the blur isn't ideal. Single exposure with colour cast correction (from using ND110).

Another shot very close to where I stay. Previously, I had tried a exposure blend to try getting the clouds to show. This time, deliberately left it as a single exposure shot and made some tonal adjustments.

Very dark scene when I took it. Not the best lit of places. HDR image from quite a number of exposures as I realised that the lighting is not even throughout the scene. Every part seemed to give me different exposure reading, ended up firing from manual bracketing which is IMHO more precise in this instance.

nice pics, may i know where is the light house?

Ray of Hope

Sharing another old shot as I'm not able to shoot lately. Spotted the "strange" ray in the sky while shooting at Chinese Garden. Managed to capture a few exposures and did HDR image. Anyway, I have been experimenting on HDR images in different situations. I reflected on it and picked up some learning points. In some sense, I do have a rough idea when do i prefer and not prefer to use HDR. Some pointers also reconciles with what HDR tutorial teaches. I resisted reading these tutorials before trying out, I don't mind making mistakes, and these mistakes do help to etch a deeper mark in my mind when the shot fails miserably. Everything I do now, is in the hope that one day, I will be able to make decent images. Hopefully.

Nice work with this one. Most people usually just blow out the light in the distance, which works in another way.

I might consider taking the trouble to liquify the bottom stairs to be parallel with the horizontals. But that might be just me. :)

I did not realise that all the while. Thanks for pointing out! I'm still trying to be more aware of little details like that. Maybe some other day if I happen to pass by again, and there are no MRT staff below casting wary glances at me, I will try to frame it better.
It's tough - I'd say you'd have to choose between getting the horizontals in the distance right versus getting the horizontals in the foreground right (the former is currently straight). It is probably easier to frame it as you have done, and liquify thereafter (if it bothers you, I am a stickler for such things). ;) Cheers.
