Ho much buy & sell activities for a particular is not an accurate gauge on the quality of the item. Some people just got tired of their toys after a few months.

Base on the website, it seem that Sigma and Tokina have more groups and elements that Nikon 12-24DX.
Does it mean that it is better than Nikon in term of CA, contrast, sharpness?

If it means anything, lesser the better.

Brother... you asked already? confirmed coming in only in JAn? Looks like i need to find alternatives.. :(

yes..i called up CP and check with Florence...unless they gave me wrong info.

Might be people suffering from wide angle deficiency, I won't know what to do with angles so wide.

Not everyone needs such extreme wide angles. I would like to have this lens, but no great reason to get one yet.

must ask urself... wether its a "need" or a "want".....

u will notice its the sigmas that are up for sale... the nikons are NEVER on sale.. i was waiting FOREVER for someone to sell his nikon 12-24... but noone, in the end pay full price...

wanna see the pics that inspire me to buy nikon 12-24?

this guy is awesome.

He has 2 lenses, nikon 12-24, and the nikon 60mm macro.
Thats all! No flash even...

I was asking him his workflow process, he says he likes the 12-24 coz of constant F4. A lot of the wide angle he takes indoors are at low light, and at 12mm + f4, he can hand hold. he will underexpose 2 stops, and then use capture to pump up the exposure after that.. it will be harder with the sigma 12-24... coz its largest aperturs is 4.5-5.6.

get the nikon, sure no regrets... ilove it!

but the Tokina 12-24 is f4 as well..the price estimated to be around SGD850. Almost half of the price of Nikon 12-24. Will decide once tested out the Tokina..but only arrive by Jan-05.

hihi, if budget is a concern.. then i suggest try out tokina.. hopefully its image quality will be good...

const f4 is definitely advangtageous... i just lurve using my nikon 12-24 indoor low light at f4.... super fun!!

thomas, what language is that on the web site that you have listed? I can't understand a single thing there but the photos are... AWESOME!

National Geographic Quality Man. Seriously. It is PRO! Sharpness and exposure all make it!

eh gosu, that guy is thai....

he travels to tibet india nepal these regions takes pics... AWESOME..

damn zai he has 2 x512, 1x 60mm macro, 1x 12-24. THATS IT! no flash etc.

His eye for composition is zai, and his technical skills are there...

im inspired by his shots...

wow tokina looks promising... not as sharp as nikkor, but for the price, it puts affordable wide angle (const f4!!) in the hands of anyone!!

if anyone find the nikkor too exp, go for the tokina!! once u do 12-24, u'll never look back!

Wow!! looks surprisingly good! quite sharp edge to edge...

how much will it be?

i'd say if can't afford nikkor 12-24, go for tokina!!

thomas, couldn't PM you. says ur inbox is full. :( could you tell everyone what's the workflow of the thai guy? thanks! :)

What is the street price of the three 12-24mm?

I have tried out the Tokina 12-24 DX and i notice it has noticebly higher amount of distortion than the Nikon/Sigma at 12mm. But the Tokina has an excellent built quality, similiar to that of the Nikon. For the Sigma, also take note that it doesnt take a front UV filter/polarizer(unless you use the adapter).
