i wish for 28mm f1.8, 35mm f1.4, 50mm f1.2 and 85mm f1.2

sigh...wait long long i guess

Is that possible?

wonder why it's not possible since canon's 70-200 f2.8 was so compact and i do see people use it like a walkabout lens... but i have not seen the images nor use the lens before so have no idea how it perform so can't share much info...

70-200/4.0 and 100-300/4.0 lenses would be nice

i was just wondering why it is possible to make 70-200 f2.8 but many people still longing for a 70-200 f4? :dunno: curious...

Unlikely to be an upgrade of D700 or SB900 flash since it's newly launched. I do think Nikon need to refresh their lenses, which i think some are not that optimum for digital use. With the FF D700 and the likely trend, some budget, mid-range FF lenses with VR would not be out of place.

reviews, forums and street talking about how the current 70-200f2.8vr is not coping well with FF sensor... nikon still not going to do anything then will sure disappoint lots of upgraders to FF...

Not sure about lenses yet... but looks like the pending announcement will be a new camera.

Current serious speculation is that it's 24MP FX, D3 type body, using a Nikon sensor or Nikon modification of a Sony sensor - few strong hints that there is something special about the sensor. Date of announcement still is Dec 1 (but it has changed a couple of times).

wonder if new camera announced, would the prices of the current cameras drop ?
still waiting for the right time to go in and buy the camera... :)

Price should drop on sale of new FX DSLRs but not necessary on announcement.

Specs that the new FX will include:

24MP which everyone is talking about
some added features from D90/D700 ~ sensor cleaner, calendar, retouch, info button, etc
16bit ?

All are speculative though... the date is near... than we'll be discussing facts

24MP, wow, that's a big jump from the 12MP that D90 offers.

Like it or not, Nikon HAS to have a high MP cam soon. You could argue about ....

(1) Do you need it (high MP cam, FX cam)???
(2) You need high spec lenses too... else corner softness, light fall-offs, etc
(3) Huge file size equates huge hard drive + high spec PC, etc
(4) Overkill ... blah, blah, blah
(5) It's the person behind VF, stupid

But, yes... it's coming... and it's sooner than one thought.

My pocket ain't ready though  .... and we are in a recession too ....

Just turn down the resolution in the camera when shooting if one is sure the high res is not needed. Or do a batch process in PS, down-res it....so only "hit" is maybe 10-20 mins for 600 images (say typical for a wedding), not necessary to open each and every file manually. Storage space should not be much of an issue be it CF/SD or HDD. It just the workflow, what will it be used for.

looks like the 20th November announcement may not take place after all...

take a look at this link and this link

some speculation that it will be on Dec 1st instead...

ok

time to reserve on dec 1

Shipping and announcement will come soon.

Do not hope for any D300x, D400 or even some ppl PM me to ask about D800 :bsmilie::bsmilie::bsmilie:

Just suffice to say nothing out of the unexpected will be announced and will probably ship shorty after that. Hopefully ppl still have enough spare $ and courage to go on a BBB spree.

Lenses - next year.

*unless there is a cut in GST - I will prefer to hold on to my $ before it is being taxed away.

yes it seems like it is soon and it's very likely to be Dec 1st

bro,
since you mentioned there would be no hope for D300X, D400 and D800, that mean this rumour about D3X is more likely the one that we are waiting for now?;)

No doubt for that.just look at the sentence:
Hopefully ppl still have enough spare $ and courage to go on a BBB spree. (quote from chngpe01).

Actually, I am more interested in lenses, Brother Chngpei01?Can disclose any things?perhaps you can advise me how much shall I save for the coming lensessssssssssssss.:)(you use lenses in the sentance, so I guess Dark Force will release more than 1 lens in 2009, right)

I think it's quite normal and expected for Nikon to release several lenses every year. So you can definitely expect more than one lens.

I'm also hoping for something like that. Isisaxon did a great write up on the problem with the 18-200 VR and hopefully, the Nikon folks see that and get that rectified.

In the meanwhile, perhaps they can add another 50mm or 80mm to that length and make it a 18-280mm VR II ~!!!!

Heh heh.......

Nikon SIngapore should do the repair free of charge since the fault is theirs... we didnt abuse the lens and yet some part is so fragile... I think i will write to their japan counterpart and demand an anwser.

So it's not a D300x but a D3x.

At least they did not announce 800 job cut. :bsmilie:
