i am hoping they bring out a AFS 80-400mm 4.5-5.6 VRII ED

Canon got their superior 100-400 and Sigma got their faster focusing 120-400 and 50-500.

I'm also hoping for something like that. Isisaxon did a great write up on the problem with the 18-200 VR and hopefully, the Nikon folks see that and get that rectified.

In the meanwhile, perhaps they can add another 50mm or 80mm to that length and make it a 18-280mm VR II ~!!!!

Unlikely to be an upgrade of D700 or SB900 flash since it's newly launched. I do think Nikon need to refresh their lenses, which i think some are not that optimum for digital use. With the FF D700 and the likely trend, some budget, mid-range FF lenses with VR would not be out of place.
