NIKON D850 Announcement

anyone using XQD Card on D850? Can share the experiences of SD card vs XQD? Not into video, so unsure if the XQD investment is worth it.
Can anyone advise on the RAW (L) filesize?

Coming from my experiences with my d800 and d500, I would say it really depends on how fast you shoot. Do you really need the speed?

Since Nikon is announcing mirrorless camera, is it worth the wait or just go for the D850? Cos I don’t intend to change the whole range of lens in a few years (at least 5-8 yrs).

What are your current lens collection and what are some of your needs?
The thing with Nikon mirrorless is that at least initially it will likely only be a supplementary system for many unless you're lucky enough to want exactly those lenses that Nikon release first. It will be many years before it will have the same depth and breadth of the F-mount lineup so it really depends on what lenses you want/need.
For versatility, the mirrorless will be better since the development announcement has also confirmed the F-mount adapter. How well it works remains to be seen and ultimately native lenses will still be better.
I think if your lens needs are the common bread and butter ranges eg. normal zooms, wide zooms, common focal length primes like 24/25/50/85mm then those will likely be filled quickly in the mirrorless mount. If you require longer telephotos or specialist primes like the 105/1.4, unless Nikon does a Sigma and re-uses existing optical formulas on the new mount, you might have to wait a long time.

What is the best price D850 is being sold at?
Any shop references? TK, Cathay or SLR Revo?

Thanks for the point of view. Currently I’m using 20/50/85mm prime. A couple of wide, mid n tele zooms. Will consider the viability and sustainability.

Latest quote I got from with great price is SLR. S$4168 for body only.

Thats a good price. A drop of $200 or so from the time i bought in april also from SLR

Wow. That's a better price. Will drop more if the forthcoming mirrorless camera video capabilities are revealed and are on par with Sony mirrorless.

The greatest improvement Nikon users will find will be in live/video focus. If video is not important it may not make any difference.

Wanders if Nikon will update the firmware for D850 to take CFexpress?

No news abt the update but no reason why not...
