Nikon D7100 Hands-On Preview

Anyone tried sigma 17-50 OS with d7100? I heard there are some issues on sigma lenses

Brought my D7000 and 18-105 kit lens to places colder then -15 degrees before, no problem at all. D7.1k and the 35mm should be even better

Yes, I am think of getting this len with the camera. But I heard that this len is not weather proof.
Is it mean that I cannot bring it to cold country? I wonder will it stop focus ?

no worries about that...i brought my d3200 with my 35mm up a mountain with -20 degrees temperature for 2 weeks.. no problem at all

That's exactly my current setup and am honestly pleased with the outcome. No focusing or compatibility issues.

just to confirm before i splash out the cash, there are no known issues with the tamron 17-50 rite?

The back/forward focusing issues with sigma/tamron lenses has always been there even before the d7100 was announced. People have reported it before. But then again only SOME copies have this issue and some develop it over time .(a quick search through the forums) . So best is to check the copy you have thoroughly and if the problem arises try to get it calibrated.

Also better bring along your tamron 17-50mm before you purchase the d7100, so you can test it, take your time. if there's issue, you need to bring the lens with d7100 to tamron SC (i don't know where) to correct it..

Hey guys I have been using this method to edit my raw foto on LR4.3, Cropped mode not supported yet.

Unorthodox method: Google for exiftool (its a cmd line program)

How-to use:
1) Put the .exe file on C:\
2) Run cmd
3) Place your raw files also in C:\ (for easy converting)
4) In CMD C:\> (Type this) >> exiftool.exe -Model="Nikon D5200" <File name 1.NEF> <File name 2.NEF> ..... <File name xx.NEF>

Cheers :>

A small dust spec i can live with..... It is an interchangeable lens camera after all, dust from normal usage is inevitable. specks from dust while not interchanging lens is not, yes im looking at you d600.

Until the dust(s) itself makes my image unusable and by unusable i mean not feasible to clean up via post processing or if i shoot lots of pictures at f/22(which i dont) Den id prob send it for maintenance to get rid of all the collated dust at one go.

But then again, its your camera :)
