btw guys there are books on purely using the D5000 are they useful? my previous cam is a prosumer ( fujifilm S6500FD) so izzit very useful to me?

a real DSLR is quite diff from the prosumer....a lot more setting u need to look out for..

I just upgrade from S9500 to D5000...I use to leave the WB to Auto and use Aperture P...and the result I quite happy abt it......but using DSLR very hard to let it Auto...the result always come out not I wanna...I am thinking of gettting those learning DVD, or go for the Nikon club D5000 learning class, think abt Sgd20/pax...

the grip izzit need to on infra shooting or smth then can use the vertical shutter izzit?
hoping to get a 55-200mm, sb-400 for my d5000 soon! and a mini outing will be great! anyone going for the $20 lesson?

err... just a short cable from grip to the gps usb unit... than go go go....~~!!;p

How long did you leave the battery out? Leaving the battery out for a couple of hours should not require you to reset the date and time. If that's the case, then maybe a visit to NSC would be helpful.

If you left it out for days, then there is a likelihood that the internal battery is drained out. In this case, I'd suggest getting a 2nd battery while the first one is charging. In any case, it's good to have a spare battery.

yeah agreed. As stated in the manual, the 'time-clock' inside our body should be able to last for abt 3 days after we take out our battery.. hope this helps..cheers...:)

been using the D5000 a few days , and i found smth very interesting:

the exposure by the camera on auto is totally off! always underexposed one, den cant compensate cause its in auto, den most of the time i shoot in Aperture Priority. ask u guys ah, regarding the auto bracketing is there any way to hold the shutter and capture the 3 shots in one go instead of one at a time?

"The camera clock is powered by an independent, rechargeable power sources, which is charged as neccessary when the main battery is installed . Three days of charging will power the clock for about a month."

send in ur set to NSC...think u got a DIE batter...
