I brought a Sigma 18-200 OS HSM with the D5k...

OS(Sigma) = VR(Nikkor)

HSM is the focusing motor...so I assume is equal = AFS....

so if u wanna 3rd party lens...for sigma need to have OS+HSM...dunno abt other 3rd party

How much did u pay for that lense?

hi can i check with you guys if i wanna get the d5k which shop offers the best deal? and what're the freebies included? wanna get my 1st slr

thanks.

just take a look at the price guide..

the standard freebie should be oni 8GB and bag... but u can bargain :) ... not so sure if the comex freebie is still ..

try Harvey Norman clark quay..since they have very few customers i think they give a lot of freebies...freebies they give if you haggle with the sales rep:
extra 8 gig mem card, extra generic battery, uv filter, dry box, cleaning kit, screen protector, tripod, bag, voucher (scratch and win you might win 100$ hahaha),they also offer cheap 5 yr warranty and give big discount for another lens like 55-200..don't know if this is still being offered, this was 2-3 months ago

I brought it together with D5k and get a bundle discount and on top of the discount I ask for 2 UV lens...3rd party battery...and the standard 8gb + nikon bag..so I dun really know how much I pay for the lens...
but I was quoted 799 for the lens from other shop.......

its all back to you, need built in motor go for D90, dont need go for D5k,

not much diff other than the price and the size.... so enjoy....

just finds it wierd that majority of people in this thread are recommending D5k haha, including myself. its nicer to hold, has lots of real cool stuff.
