all d5000 users one questions...
i've been using mine for few months now... and absolutely loving it...
when i take pictures then transfer to my laptop... i usually delete them from my camera...
few days ago i deleted all the pictures from my camera using the camera not the laptop...
and for some reason... photo counting started from 0 again... i actually already shot nearly 2000 photos... but now mu photo counting again going from 00? is there anything wrong with it?

check out the user manual....there is setting to restart the number or continue the number...under "menu button" ==> customs setting menu==> d4 file number sequence

i normally dun mind restart from zero..cos once I transfer the pic to my computer...i will use the Nikon program to rename it while transfering.....so the number does not really matter....

u guys seriously need to read the manual hahaha

yeah manual is impt!!! :)

i understand that the D5000, doesnt suppose alot of AF lense cos of the lack of motor in the body./

are there a whole list of which lense that have AF-s or any other 3rd party lense with inbuild motor that will allow the D5000 to do a AF??

can go to nikon sg website and look at all the AF-S lens. other brands like sigma tamron tokina also offer built in AF motor for use on Cameras like D40, D40x, D60, D3000 and of course D5000

hey im still deciding between the pricer d90 or the d5000. as i've being reading on reviews can i check with you guys what's the in body focus motor? what's the disadvantages of not having it on the d5000.?

it's just simply mean that you cannot AF using the old lens, unless manual focus.

so you have to get the AFS lens or third party lens with AF motor.

AFS lens tend to be more expensive...

So means to say.. Nikon SLR can use 3rd party lense like Sigma, Tamron and Tokina??

yesh mr thomas they can use third party lenses, juz have to find those with the in built motor, but do try manual focus sometimes, its quite fun, remind me the old camera days when i was younger...

I brought a Sigma 18-200 OS HSM with the D5k...

OS(Sigma) = VR(Nikkor)

HSM is the focusing motor...so I assume is equal = AFS....

so if u wanna 3rd party lens...for sigma need to have OS+HSM...dunno abt other 3rd party
