Max quoted $1699 for the kit, bag, 1gb sd card (normal speed).
Also avoid the one besides AP (Square video) in sls.![]()

Did you also know majority of these converters won't work with most of the DSLRs?Xtrahot said:What is the fuss over SD cards?
Doesn't everyone know that there are adapters to convert SD cards to CF format for SGD 45? :dunno:
Incorrect. It's also limited by the speed of the media as well.Xtrahot said:Doesn't everyone know that the write speed of the camera is the limitation now whne you buy a high speed SD card (not extreme versions)? :dunno:
I don't think everybody knows and due to investments already in place with their CF cards, switching to SD is not a good choice to spend money. Thus their concerns.Xtrahot said:Doesn't everyone know that there are 2 GB SD cards available? :dunno:
I guess not. :embrass:
Limited? CF has storage up to 8GB and 16GB IIRC. Where got limited in capacity. The speed is already very fast also, don't really think it's that limited in capabilities.shutterbug said:Actually, CF has hit or almost it's speed limitation. It's capacity is also limited. SD on the other hand is designed to be more secure and has lots of room to grow in both speed and capacity. The SD market has grown and expanded faster than CF, last and this year. Almost everybody is betting on SD as the future format, of course CF will also stay on for a long time.

It's nothing to do with the cheap or expensive, I also have card readers, they can read the cards, but the adaptor itself must be able to be used by the DSLRs themselves. Converters don't always work everywhere.Xtrahot said:Not the cheapo one I have. If they can get it right for cheapo card readers. I can't for the life of me imagine how the manufacturers can screw up the adapter. :dunno:
That's because the speed is standard on the average cards, try a fast one like Lexar 80X vs a Kingston normal card and you'll see the difference.Xtrahot said:I see no difference in speed between the write speed on a good (not the best) CF card and a good SD (not the best) card with an adapter on a D70. Call me crazy. :dunno:
Nope! Nobody claimed SD was inferior to CF, it's just basically the size and commoness of it for DSLRs nowadays. Given the D2X just annoucned it's encryption with Lexar new secure media, CF will be here for quite some time.Xtrahot said:I think you hit the nail on the head. I too have investments in plenty of CF media. But times change. Digital photos are not better than film but we change and progress for convenience. But that does not mean SD media is somehow inferior to CF. That perception is incorrect.
