Good mah .. especially those long fireworks wait![]()
A bit over, however I wish something practical like wireless and GPS built into the cam. Maybe with bluetooth and infra would be nicers.![]()
Whoah! Have you seen the specs on these beasts? IMPRESSIVE! Its enough to seriously tempt me to switch camps.
I'm ecstatic Nikon has come up with this coup. All too long, Canon has been milking the market with its dominant position with half-hearted 'upgrades'. Even if I don't switch, it would at least as a strong impetus for Canon to wake up their ideas and give us a REAL upgrade.
I've been an exclusive Canon user so far, with a small collection of Canon equiptment from my 35mm film days. I've yet to take the plunge because there isn't any Canon DLSR with the feature set I desire at a price I'm comfortable with. My ideal cam would be the fabled 5D MkII whenever that shows up. I've been waiting for it for YEARS and patience is wearing thin.
Just Do It!
Make coffee abit extreme... maybe press a button - dial pizza hut or KFC more reasonable ..
Anyway, i seriously cannot imagine these 2 cameras 40D / D300 side by side on a store shelf.. how will they be sold and who will bite ... now the gap widens...

Aiyah...who knows next time maye we'll see Transformer style DSLR....that can transform into robots, fly by themselves to the photoshoot, take pictures, den fly back and transfer files at lightning speed. :bsmilie:hehe... but i would like to see is who can put a built-in GPS tagger into a DSLR. dat is wat i like to see.![]()
:bsmilie:The best camera is the one announced just after you bought yours.
Well said my friend!!!
Though the new releases from the Dark Side are super tempting...
51 pt AF in D300...sigh...why Canon so kiam one.... only 9 pt in 40D.
Really, what is the fuss all about?? During the early days of digital SLRs, I can understand the excitement when a new DSLR comes onto the market bringing with it a significant jump in resolution and image quality, lower noise and better white balance, etc.
But now it is obvious that the technology is rapidly maturing; i believe there is little noticeable difference in IQ between an older and the newer model nowadays. For eg, will anyone be able to look at a 12 x 18 print and say that it came from the 40D instead of 30D (or D300 rather than D200)?? I am glad Nikon finally embraces full-frame -- but that's about it.
So, to differentiate their latest products, we are supposed to rave about things like 500 point AF sensors, 10 inch LCD screens, wi-fi capability, GPS and maybe a built in phone with MP3 too?
Wireless & GPS built in still ok... BT & IR ... abit slow leh ...
Since they can do it with P&S .. why not SLRs...
Then the next thing u will need a power pack for the camera already, these features are power suckers.![]()
why would i want to put a GPS tracker in my camera?
the last thing i need is when i go for a studio shoot in GL and questions and calls coming in to check why I'm in that area! :sweatsm::sweat:![]()
