First, I can confidently state that you probably don't need more than 4mp. That "you" was specific.

I doubt it.

If we're merely comparing megapixels, then 4mp will not do it for me I'm afraid. I haven't tried any DSLR with 4mp, so my experience is confined to the point-n-shoots. I have been using a Canon 10D since April which gives acceptable result though.

New Info about D2H from Japan

1)The body of D2H is acturally based on the upcoming F6.

2) 8fps, and up to 40. While 25 is the max if shooting RAW.

3) USB 2.0 instead of Firewire.

4) Shutter lag time is even superior to F5.

5) Viewfinder is 100% coverage.

6) Price: 490,000 Yen, which is quite a bit cheaper than the D1H.

Correct me if I'm wrong, isn't 40fps higher than the fps count for any motion picture??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*dumbstruck*

It is 8fps with a 40 shots buffer for JPEG and 25 shots buffer for the RAW format. This means you can hold the shutter down for approximately 5 and 3 seconds while shooting in JPG and RAW mode (respectively). No, Nikon is not producing a "SLR-like Videocam" yet ... ;p

The fastest frame rate to date is Olympus E100rs at 15 f/s.

hmmm.. no focus assist light??

Doesn't look like it has pop-up flash.

In that case AF assist comes from Speedlight.

With its new 11-area/CAM2000 AF-system used, I doubt if it ever needs one! :D

Picked this up somewhere - the Nikon D2H allows the usage of non-CPU lenses.

Quote:-

Another new feature on the D2H is the ability to enter data in the shooting menu when using a non-CPU Nikkor lens. Inputting information about the attached non-CPU lens (i.e., focal distance and aperture number) enables the following functions with these types of older Nikkor lenses:

Functions that are available after inputting the focal distance: Automatic zooming of the speedlight; displaying of the focal distance in the playback screen (focal distance is marked with an asterisk).

Functions that are available after inputting the aperture setting: Display of the lens' aperture setting (on the top control panel and in the lower part of the viewfinder); automatic external flash control linked to the aperture setting; aperture setting display in the playback screen (aperture number is marked with an asterisk).

Functions that are available after inputting both the focal distance and aperture setting: RGB multipattern metering; 3D Multi-Sensor Balanced Fill-Flash.

The lens information can be entered in the "lens information manual setting" of the shooting menu, or by using the function button and main control dial

Available focal distance settings: 6, 8, 13, 15, 16, 18, 20, 24, 25, 28, 35, 43, 45, 50, 55, 58, 70, 80, 85, 86, 100, 105, 135, 180, 200, 300, 360, 400, 500, 600, 800, 1,000, 1,200, 1,400, 1,600, 2,000, 2,400, 2,800, 3,200 and 4,000mm.

Available aperture settings: f/1.2, 1.4, 1.8, 2, 2.5, 2.8, 3.3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 5.6, 6.3, 7.1, 8, 9.5, 11, 13, 15, 16, 19 and 22.

And I bet the Canonites are embrassed to laugh their asses off the D2H rumor was released...... haha!

Seems like the multiplication factor problem is still there? Is Nikon ever going to come up with a full frame sensor?
