Is it just me or does it not look as fantastic as i previously thought?
Hmmm... ;p

think our current VRI can achieve similar.

anyone with the new lens care to share their experience? is it worth getting? lol

Don't have experience with the 70-200mm VR I but managed to try the VRII at the Clubsnap/Nikon airsoft and its a first rate lens optically and in AF speed.

what were you expecting??

the 70-200 update's came with vr II, and supposed better corner performance on FX.. and better coating.. these are the key updates.. its not so much of seeing all these from.. a cat picture..:confused:

Yes, the original 70-200mm VR lens is already a very sharp pro-grade lens. The main differences between the new and old versions being the new lens is sharper at the edges, less vignetting, closer focussing (4.6ft instead of 5ft), has 1 more stop of VR, slightly heavier but slightly shorter, different optical design (21 elements/16 groups,7 ED instead of 21 elements/15 groups, 5 ED), etc.

Those photos I posted were not meant to illustrate the sharpness of the new lens compared to the old. They were just available light, handheld maiden photos of my lens... and since it was night time, they had to be taken at high ISO and as such would not be as sharp as they should have been if they were taken at low ISO.

To check how the lens perform wide-opened at f/2.8 at night, I would have to take the shots handheld at ISO 200 at the tele-end with flash... like in this shot:

Very good price... only thing is how many sets did they manage to get from Nikon.

Where is SLR Revolution?

The copy at Lords is local warranty from NSC?

SLR revolution is in Funan. Level 5. Opposite John. Purchased some stuff from them yesterday. friendly salepersons.
the VR II is currently out of stock in SLR Revolution. You can pre-order from them. expect delivery in 2 weeks. =p

The copy from Lords should have local warranty.

Cheers.

That is probably not the best shop you would want to purchase something from.
Numerous bad experiences by CSers from them...
