Sure bro, no luck in getting it yet. Maybe I will go Angsana walk one round next week, see if I can get a copy there.

Ha ha, in Mee too tebrau city have some copy.

Wish you good luck :)

Humble test shots done on D7000.

Gotten this copy from SLS 2 days ago! Loving it to the max alongside the 40mm. (yea kinda sucky to have 28mm so close to 40mm in terms of length, but I am quite surprised by what the 28mm could do!)

Apart from close up shots, the first few are done on the same placement. Note the difference in the POV from a DX camera. Really fantastic lens even for a DX user.

Test shots. When I head out everything will go haywire.. haha...

For $800, quite, if not VERY exp for a F/1.8 prime, but is worth every single cents.

Time will tell, going to take it out for a spin tonight.

PS: @ rain5533, your initial photos was the fuel to my purchase :hearts:

Ha ha just sharing on what so powerful of this lens is going on :)

can anyone share if the Nikon 28mm f/1.8 will hunt during low light?

sir. to each its own.

one man's meat is another man's poison.

well, same here, if any1 offer me a new sigma or trade with the nikkor, same here, i wouldnt trade. I would say I rather not shoot, than to use Sigma lenses.

:D :P :P :D

ok no offences to sigma's lenses owners.

Yep. To each his own... 28mm doesn't cut it for me. that 4mm on the wide end is a lot of difference in terms of perspective and angle of view. I will go 24mm or 35mm.
In the end, shoot with whatever lenses also don't matter.

Only the image matters. ;)

But f1.8 aperture in low light like street walk the ISO may need used at 1600 - 2500 only.

This lens is very similar to 35mm DX if you mount in DX body.

Ok what you mean on hunt the low light?

You mean shoot from low light condition?

hunt in low light, meaning will it be difficult for the AF to get a lock in low light...

Thanks your kind of explanation on each meaning :)

Won't loh.. Cause when you shoots from f1.8 aperture. Just you need little bit light and point to press the shuttle, most easily than kit lens.

If not why they called fast lens...

But make sure you shuttle speed should have 1/30s and above then you can feel the fast and accurate.

burningacid , I think would be subjective , if focus area has high contrast should be ok or else will surely hunt abit .

I dont have this lens (yet) but it can happen even to some better lens i've used .

On a side note , i agree with daredevil123 that 24mm and 28mm is a different beast .

I have the 20mm F1.8 but i dont think the 28 1.8G can replace it either.

That's why previous AFD generation has 20mm , 24mm and 28mm f/2.8 models.

When you shoot from 24mm vs 28mm definitely is 24mm widen on landscape shots.

You don't one too wide an still allow you to cropped image & also in FX body got crop x1.2 factor an = 29mm equivalent to 28mm G.

But if you getting the 24mm f1.4G an don't one can afford that higher price :)

Very little hunting, almost non existence even in low light (no AF assist light)

But will report back once it gets to the field. haha

sir but i do have to agree the IQ looks exhilarating sharp and stunning ;)

My answer is you shooting the sky or darkroom.

Other than that should be no problem at all.

There is a big difference between shooting wider and moving backwards to get a wider view. Similarly, there is also a difference between shooting a longer focal length and moving forward to get a tighter view and also a difference in shooting a wider lens and then cropping the image.

The difference is in the perspective. So a 24mm and a 28mm are very different lenses.

Yes I agree that..

But on 28mm advantage on using cropped factor on DX x1.5 = 42mm is consider like standard lens.
So my trip only bring the single lens of 28mm should be good enough cover from 28mm, 34mm or 42mm in the D800 :)
