Night Test Shot with Nikon D5000 @ Marina Barrage

Hi Friend
Excellent shots, 16-85 is really sharp, and shadow details is also fine, no grains, seems cmos sensor of 5000 working effectively.

Thanks
aloks:)

Thanks Aloks. Yes, the Nikkor 16-85 lens is indeed a very sharp lens. It's one of my best & favourite lens after jumping from Nikkor 18-70 & 18-200.

thanks for the shots. from these photos, the D5000 performance surpasses my expectations..:):)

Fantastic!
Thanks for sharing the EXIF data as well. So much to learn from the data alone, not to mention the composition.

I bought my Nikkor 16-85 in early 2008 during my D200 period. If I can recall it's about 900 plus no more than 950. :)

Hey bro, I still remember this THREAD started by you quite sometime back about the night landscape test shot for Tokina 11-16 lens which I still keeping it in my bookmark and now you did it again but this time with your D5000, fantastic night landscape photos.:thumbsup:

You're really "THE MAN BEHIND THE CAMERA". Guess I must learn from you how to take such night shots.:p

Do you mean the focusing speed of this lens or something else? Well I should say the focusing speed is very fast and VR is very effective.

There are many good review on this lens if you google it. ;)

Thanks for viewing & your comment. So you wanna depart your D200 for D5000. That's what I do. The Nikkor 16-85mm is indeed a very good lens for landscape & potrait. It's sharp & also good for travelling.

hi Zola,

Very impressive picture!
What is the max aperture for your 16-85 lens?
what is the technique behind to capture the sky with clear cloud ?

Hi Orionct,

Thanks for viewing & the comment.
The max aperture for the 16-85 lens is f/3.5.
In order to capture the sky with clear cloud, it all depends on that night if the sky has patches of clouds then you're able to capture the movement of the cloud with longer exposure. :)
