Just wish Sony will come out with more prime lens for Emount.

According to what the salesman told me, there will be no more new lenses for Sony Nex System this year already.

Then let's hope 3rd party lens manufacturers like Sigma, Tokina, Tamron & Samyang will produce some better ones and earn our money instead of pouring it into Sony. No foresight for Sony... LOL

I seriously doubt this rumor all right, a "G" with this kind of specs -> 16-50mm f/3,5-5,6 OSS G zoom ?????

LOL, they are better off naming the kit len for A77 a "G" len instead. 16-50mm f/2.8

Dunno man, I'm no lens maker. But the G might just mean better glass materials. Lens spec is not just about focal length and aperture.

I would love a f2.8 zoom too, but like some people have said, not very feasible for NEX if size and OSS is considered...

So probably, this is a compromise between a high quality zoom that is collapsible and make the NEX more compact

Actually, I don't mind as long as the quality is good.

I had both zoom and this lens better them in term of everything.

Might considered sticking to prime and gave up the zoom.

Just hope Sony will come out more E lenses.
