If dpreview studio shots are not the best way, i cant think of any other fair way to compare shots of different cameras.
As you said, in real world shooting, lighting condition changes every now and then, even if its only 1 minute apart, you may get different exposure readings, so comparing them at these situations are even more tricky.
I know in studio shots, best is to compare raw which you could at dpreview.
However at this pricepoint, most people who use them normally shoots at Jpegs, so the way the camera processes them plays a part in deciding image quality.

I definitely need high shutter speeds and a better high ISO performance is always welcome!Got people say here don't need ISO6400? Where???
Sure, I just wish they would do a better job but it's better than nothing.Since we cant do it ourselves, there isnt any other choice isnt it?
Unless we buy all cameras and test them side by side?
Its always funny that when any other non-sony cameras get good rating, many will try to use that to boast around and then bash sony for lousy image quality.
Now that sony has became frontrunners of image quality, people suddenly say they dun need iso6400.
Sour grapes.

Was undecided between a77/ nex7 and nex-5N. Now it seems, I am leaning towards the nex-5N.
