Thanks do u still remember if we mount a Pana lens without switch for IS to Oly body will the body or lens IS take over ? I forgotten that already

I can't remember, so did a test.

If Lens IS priority set to On. Pana lens without switch but with OIS (e.g. the new P 12-32), no 5 axis activated, i suppose OIS works.
If Lens IS priority is Off, 5 axis kicks in.

If The lens is changed to one with physical OIS switch, e.g P12-35/2.8.
If Lens IS priority set to On. Switch is ON. No 5 axis activated, I suppose OIS works. If switch is OFF, 5 axis takes
If Lens IS priority is Off, 5 axis kicks in.

So I would think this setting is better to turn it ON.

no worries, i didn't have one to test before either, so it's hard to remember. the groovy sound of IBIS helps to differentiate haha. perhaps when I'm less busy next month, shall post a sticky thread on "FAQ & useful tips for m43 users"

Oly fanboy but if a camera's decent, of course must have integrity and say its good la haha. Same as if not good will also say 'not suitable for me' but don't run it down heh.

But one thing is the banding issues with this camera on electronic shutter which WongLP kindly showed me yesterday. I hope Pana fixes this before release or its gonna be a big bummer.

I am referring to the one directly behind, the body colour is abit bronze or champagne with blue leather I think.

Dont think they will fix it coz I have the same banding issue with GX7 electronic shutter

Under what conditions does the banding occurs.

Important: i think the set tested is still a pre-production set. Hence i'd said i hoped Pana would fix it in the production release.

It appears when u r using the electronic shutter at times, u can do a readup by searching for 'banding GX7' since these 2 cameras share the same sensor.

happens on different pana lenses 12-35/12-32kit/20mm I tested. so I think it's not lens dependent. and seems to coincide with artificial lighting refresh rate, so if speed is faster > 1/50s. worsens if speed is faster. so e.g. 1/400s is more prominent than 1/100s. Artificial light+electronic shutter+speed faster>1/50s seems to be the triggering point. Mechanical shutter no issue.

Same as GX7, the review done by megaweb and myself we reflected this issue.
