[News] Panasonic Lumix DMC-GM1

That's because sometimes I have problem getting a sharp picture with lenses like the 75mm f1.8

It is a very good camera. Only if it has in-built stabilizers, this camera will be perfect.

Imo, GM1 is more for portability with its kit lens, 14mm and 20mm. Its not so much for matching with big lenses.

The GX7 is better suited for using with all lenses.

But since it is a M4/3, it should be "designed" to be used with all lenses... I am not saying GM1 is bad with big lenses but with in-built stabilizers, I think it will help with its image outputs...

Maybe Panasonic wants to control the market? If GM1 had in-built stabiliser, then it would be one more less distinguishing feature compared to GX7. I'm quite sure if they want to, they can incorporate it into the GM1.

Gariz had indicated on their FB that their GM1 casing coming soon.

Yes of course it will be perfect. But this is not a perfect world and people always make sure its not so that they can rip out more money from us. :)

Probably GM2 will have it, if not then we have no choice but to get GX7.

I would think that since it is so bloody small, the miniaturization process took its toll and with the new shutter mechanism, they have to forgo the IS in order to stay small and light.

Hi.

I'm traveling to Singapore in Jan and Feb 2014, and I'm looking to buy this camera somewhere. Searching online I haven't been able to find a single outlet that sells it. Looking at the big ones (Harvey Norman, Courts etc.) they don't seem to have it. It must be in many stores by now, right? What's the selling price generally? Do you have any link to a store that sells it?

Thanks in advance!

There has to be some sort of product differentiation I guess. Just hope that Panny doesn't start making its in body IS exclusive only to its GX models.

Doubtful. Ibis takes up space in the camera body. If you add ibis, it will be as big as the EPL range. IMHO.

Are there any Panasonic m4/3 with in built stabilizers?
