Anyway, when I was there, I did not see the 105 DC also. Maybe they hid the lens. I wasn't at the mall too long also, my wife was with me and I wasn't allowed to look too long...

But I got the DX 35/1.8 cheap cheap....

Hey i’m getting a set of Phottix Aster Wireless Triggers. I’m so going to try off-camera flash photography there.

Anyway the triggers also have the ability to turn any other flash into a optical slave. So i guess even if we cut Canon, Nikon or Nissin, we should be fine.

passions running high...

Well, after discussing with Fuji before the previous outing (part 8), we felt like we should focus on the newbies, to give them an opportunity to meet some experienced shooters and learn from them the basics of night landscape photography.
The main emphasis is LEARNING from the experienced guys.

If experienced shooters start monopolizing the 'newbies' slots, then basically there won't be much learning and sharing.
Furthermore, as I had said in an earlier post, once photogs reach a certain competency, I really have nothing more to teach. That sorta defeats the intended purpose of this outing
The social aspect of the outing (shooting with familiar/friendly faces) is one that we've decided to put as a lower priority compared to knowledge sharing.

hi fuji, hopefully i'm not classified as one of the culprit?

i may have some exp with SLR 10+ yrs ago, but only return to photography last dec and still on the learning curbe on DSLR. i've pm zerocool before for outing 8 to ask if its alright for me to join in as newbie to gauge my level of knowlegde against his. if he deem me qualitied as senior i would be more than willing to share my limited exp and knowlegde.

I cannot cope with having another group of shooters!
I would imagine that the 'repeat shooters' group will get larger and larger over time, since the Newbies Outings are always such great fun... (cheh... self praise)

Relax Fuji-san. We do not have too much control over this totally. But my stand is that even if only one newbie learnt something, our efforts are worth it. Ganbarimasu!
