Newbies Outing (Part 7) Photo - Clarke Quay, 24th Mar 2010

Now i know who u r bro, look forward to joining ur next outing :)
Your gear is too scary la...
I'm afraid of the 'poison'... :)
Been keeping my mind away from FX quite successfully...

i like the group photo...

hope to join u guys and gals next time..

Bro.. this one was overexposed for the sky. Unfortunately that day the sky was pretty featureless (cloudy)... That's the thing about landscape photography... gotta wait for the right conditions.
You could've tried to take some bracketed exposures, then layer and blend them in post-processing. Might help a bit...

This one seems quite noisy.
Also try to rotate the picture slightly anti-clockwise, such that the Novotel is vertical. Otherwise it looks weird.

Hehe Thanks bro =) Will try that next time =)

I've already lost my reputation with the whole 'sore eyes' fiasco... ;)
Ha ha ha, where did I mention she your gf, I just hint she mayb like a bee to 'honey' wah:bsmilie: Anyway you tall & hamm so sure attract many bees to the nx outing lor:bsmilie:

from your signature.... you can only bring the 2nd item... and.... none of the rest! :)

actually I'm curious to see the D700 + 16-35 combo.... very tempting indeed...

This one I feel is quite a fair bit underexposed. Probably about 1-stop more exposure would be much better, maybe even more...

This one looks a bit soft. Your hosting site blocks out the EXIF data? Or you removed it when you saved the JPG?
Also underexposed. The buildings in the far background have blended in with the dark sky.

yeah I meant the physical combo... :)
I saw your HK pics :)

16-35 on a FX approximates the field of view that my 12-24/D80 combo gives me, which I like.
So the difference will be the performance!

A few photos to upload..

As usual, out of so many shots, only these four are the better ones. Others are either over or underexposured. ;p

1.

2.

3.

4.

Comments anyone?

I like these 2, especially #2 :) nice colours, well-exposed, and pretty good composition!
Looks like even though you had less time, you did a good

Actually after the shoot I'm still quite blur, after all I'm a newb.. I posted some shots below which I perceived as the better pics out of the rest I've taken.. No idea if it's over or underexposed.. Pls feel free to comment..

siao liao... is there some magic in there?
My 12-24 should give a FOV like 18-36 on an FX cam, but of course the viewfinder is much larger in an FX cam.

ok ok... stop!!! gonna stop thinking about new cam now...
