Newbies Outing (part 10) - June 6 Sunday, Marina Barrage

Ok, due to the fact my wireless shutter release is set to the same frequency as another bro's (both at default), I realized I have a lot of pictures to look at. I just picked one at random (the last one) and processed it. And here it is. Please look at the text below the pic to see what PP I had done:

I found it rather amusing when you both realized that you both had the wireless on the same frequency!!! Goes to show better to check if anyone else is using at group shoots :)

Btw, the other member who had his frequency with the same frequency as yours is Kenny, his pic captured above by draken.

Cheers!

Come on guys and gals, there were more than 20 people who attended yesterday afternoon's shoot. Please contribute your pictures here :)

Thanks!

Shot in raw+basic. Open raw file in Lightroom. Added a Graduated filter to lower -0.4 stops in exposure. Did some cloning to remove jetty from the lower right of the pic. Did a Graduated filter to lower -0.3 stops in exposure of the bottom 1/8th of the frame. Bring up fill light around 15-20 to get some details out of the shadows. Adjust tint to get a slight purplish hue (personal taste). Export to PSD. Open in CS4. Run picture through noise ninja to remove any residual noise. Do Lens correction to remove distortion due to UWA. Check to make sure all verticals are straight. Used transform->scale to stretch back to normal ration (using the flyer as a guage, must be perfect circle). Did some contrast (curves), levels, clean up, touch up. Crop to 16:9. Add watermark. Save to JPEG. post. Entire process took me around 15-20mins.

Muahaha use wired remote is the best!

Ha..ha..:bsmilie:

Wasn't satisfied with my posted pic. I realized as it was my last pic, I might have moved the focusing ring by mistake. I noticed I did not get that hyperfocusing shiokness...

Now, finally with enough time to slowly look through the pics, I picked one I like best and processed it. Here is the pic. I wanted to get the entire stretch of CBD into the pic. Here it is. Note this is one exposure, not a panaroma. I just cropped out the portion I wanted after I corrected the for the verticals. I also processed this to be less "blue", just to be different. Enjoy...

Basically I cropped out the foreground because I feel it is too much distracting (I'm not pro like bro DD123 who can do cloning :dunno:).

Come on people. Post your pics. There is no good and bad. We are all learning. After posting here, with the feedback from all the bros and sisters here, you will get even more suggestions and ways to improve.

Nataru,

Thanks for posting.

#1 is nice and has a lot of potential. I am not sure if you have enough tele reach, but if you can zoom in on the couple, it would be totally wonderful.

Love the colors in #3. #4 is slightly over-exposed. Dial the shutter speed back a little and the shot will come out nicely. I think around 2/3 stop (or 1 stop) would do the trick.

I think they are just too busy like me, because for me, ytd after reach home take a bath str8 go sleep. This morning go work and now then got time to submit homework, so I think just give them some time. :)

Thanks! I will take note of that and improve on the next outing. I will try my best not to disappoint the seniors. Really appreciate everyone's effort.

Nothing will disappoint the seniors. We are all here to learn from each other. I may even learn something from you. As long as you keep shooting and keep posting, all of us here will try our best to point out what we like, and what we think can be improved. And for feedback, I urge everyone to give feedback, not just the seniors. So we all can have different viewpoints, and know what elements in the pictures move each one of us. Evey one can learn from every body else. Come on people, post, and feedback too!

P.S. it is not a competition here. This is a learning outing, and the posting and comments is part of the learning experience as well.

Thanks a lot for sharing this daredevil :)
