Next time hor, I scared my children's teachers also ask my student go google when my children ask them a qn on maths or what.

I don't know, but I think my teachers were never like that to me.

I thought we are all equals here. Everyone has something to offer one another. Even when you share information, there is something to benefit, because you are processing thoughts.

I thought so too. Yet some seems to think they teacher leh, or superior, or maybe "i am around longer than u, i eat salt more than u eat rice". I also thought at first that this is a community, and community involves sharing and helping to some extent. However, it seems over the time I had seen some hierarchy. Pretty sad actually.

No one does right things all the time.
Just because someone produce good photos before, doesn't mean every photo he take is gold. We must also remember that. There is nothing wrong with passing critique on someone whom you perceive to be more experienced, better. Maybe they are, so? If you don't understand something, can ask, can question. We are all adults here.
Maybe people should remember that when you give positive critique, you learn as well. Constructive critique anyways.
Similarly, at the receiving end, one must remember that the critique is on the works, not yourself. Everyone has different style, you have to look past the hurt that your photo is not good as you think sometimes, and then pick out the comments that make more sense. As long as the person means well, and doesn't just want to sound like he is better, doesn't want to self-high, doesn't want to speak out for the sake of sounding like he know something when he dunno... I think should thank them.
Which photographer don't want to know how their photos make people feel? Sometimes even if it is good, saying what you see, as ridiculous as it sounds... Can be helpful too. :thumbsup:

I've got no qualms about harsh critiques. It doesn't need to come from someone who is "around" longer than me. As long as it helps me to understand and improve, why not. We're all equals. However, for those who feel they can teach, then at least must get things right. Its a mega boo-boo for any teachers to get their stuff wrong. If they want to act like a teacher within equals, then they must make sure they can carry that authority. They might not know, a teacher is not a know-all, some teachers are stumped by questions, but good teachers always seek to take a step back, tell the student "i will go read up" than to anyhow answer for the sake of it.

I just went down to check the 7-11 store clerk tell me they have less than $50 after dark and that they have no AA rechargeable, no charger... But got AA alkaline. :angry::angry::angry:
